Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2015
I wanted to make a chocolate cake for my husbands birthday, but I'm tired of chemically produced box mixes. This was my very first cake from scratch complete with homemade icing! I made icing once 16 years ago for my sons first birthday and it was just awful. This cake was easy to make and so was the icing. I followed to recipe instructions to the letter (except I made it in a 9x13 pan) and the icing.. oh. my. goodness. Divine! I absolutely recommend making it as it's written first and adjust it to your own tastes. If you're not going to do the four layers as written (I didn't), you may want to halve the recipe for icing as it is quite a lot. I think I'll try this as cupcakes next time! YUMM

Graham Cracker Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2015
My daughter and I just made this crust (for our chocolate and banana swirl cream pie) and I LOVED it! I find some crusts too crumbly for my taste and this one has a great texture. I can't wait for it to cool completely so we can eat it up!

I have been looking for a light and fluffy white bread, and boy this is perfect! My family devoured both loaves! Thanks for the great recipe.

Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2014
I read the reviews and made this cake anyway! I am so glad that I did. I made exactly as the recipe stated though I used a different brand of chocolate. Mine took about 48 minutes to cook to perfection, and I dusted it with icing sugar instead of making the glaze. It is spectacular and will be going into my regular recipe rotation. Definitely try it once and if it's not what you love tweak it as others have, but try it just once as it calls for. My family loves it and I'll be surprised if it lasts more than a day!

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2014
I have made this recipe twice already, it is my new go to white bread recipe. Very simple and with the use of quick rise yeast you can skip the bowl rise (still need to do sponge rise) cutting out an hour of prep time. I used all purpose flour as I did not have bread flour, but it turned out beautifully! Thanks to another reviewer for that tip about the flour or I might not have made it! Have sent the link to family as well, thanks for a great recipe!

I used red quinoa and added chopped apple. I omitted salt and pepper. It was tasty!
