Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
This was good - I've made a few of these before and I think this was the best one. I think I might use Cream of Mushroom soup next time though ....

This was DELICIOUS ... I didn't go with the tortilla chips ... yum, yum. Served with a dollop of sour cream.

Turkey-Cheese Macaroni Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
This recipe was okay at best. My daughter wouldn't eat it (but she's picky as it is) and my husband and I ate it but felt it wasn't all that flavourful. We wouldn't make again.

Thai Chicken Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
This recipe was excellent although I did make a few mods. I only had chicken breasts (not ground chicken) so I cooked them and put them in my food processor. I only used about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of the cilantro and it wasn't fresh. Instead of the sweet chili sauce I used Thai sauce and it gave it some kick and instead of 1/4 of a cup, I put in close to a 1/2 cup (and you could easily add more). I don't like spicy foods but this definitely gave it some good flavour and for those looking for some heat, just put more in. Overall, a great recipe, husband and I both rate it as a 10/10. Thanks!

Caramelized Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2007
This was a pretty good recipe although it didn't come close to caramelizing, it was just runny (and I did boil the sauce on the stove top even adding corn starch to thicken and broiled it while in the oven). It was just a very runny sauce so I was disappointed - I was hoping for a thicker coating. The taste however was good, the chicken was moist and flavourful. I am not sure whether I'd make again, I think I might try the candied garlic chicken wings to see if I can find a thicker sauce. All in all good recipe but I don't think caramelize is good for the title ... ? Maybe try some of the other reviewers suggestions.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2007
This recipe was fantastic!! Try it! I went to Rib-fest not that long ago and had the best pulled-pork sandwiches I had ever eaten. I tried to replicate and could not. Until now!! I used a half a pork roast (all I had) and put it in the slow cooker with the broth (all I had was chicken but I tried it anway). The result was a very moist chunk of meat that shredded in no time. I added a bottle of Kraft's Brown Sugar BBQ sauce (yes, it's sweet but brown sugar is a main ingredient in great pulled pork sandwiches!). The quality of your sandiches will largely depend on your choice of BBQ sauce so pick wisely!!

Cheesy Potato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
Yum! This is one of the best potato salads I've ever made. We had leftovers the following day and it was even better than the day before. A great salad and definitely a keeper with this family. The only changes I made were to use real bacon instead of bacon bits.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2006
I made these wings for my husband and he gave them a 5 star. He thought the sauce was delicious - a perfect heat. The chicken was nice and crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. This is the newest recipe to be added to his favourites list. Thanks for sharing. :)

Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2006
These burgers tasted just like meatloaf - in fact, my husband ate it in a bowl like meatloaf b/c it was falling apart. I wasn't really impressed by the taste and they didn't hold together. Wouldn't make again.

Cheesy Pork Chop Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
This recipe was just okay. The pork chops were very tender and good but the potatoes were hard (I'd suggest microwaving them a bit before cooking as suggested by other reviewers). It was a good dish but not sure I'd make again.

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2006
This recipe was very easy to make and tasted good to boot. The only change I would make would be less taco seasoning (actually I think I will omit it altogether - it's too overpowering for my family). The chicken turned out very moist and all in all, a pretty good recipe.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

This soup turned out fantastic (I omitted the celery and added a few bits of bacon, also added some grated cheese to each bowl). It was very easy to make and tasted really good. Will make again - thanks for sharing.

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2006
This recipe is perfect to make when you have little time or don't feel like cooking because it's easy and fast. I thought it was pretty good, chicken was very moist - not a favourite of mine but would probably make again because it was so easy. Maybe add more cheese? A suggestion might be to add more cheese - I didn't notice the flavour at all.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2006
These chocolate chip cookies were very, very good. I have been trying chocolate chip cookie recipes forever to find the perfect cookie and this one is very close. They weren't too cake-like and they weren't thin and greasy, they were the perfect in-between cookie. That said, the dough is very thick once you mix all the ingredients together. A bit of advice - if you like a thinner cookie and not so cake-like, make a smaller ball of dough and when you place it on the cookie sheet be sure to flatten it quite a bit as the dough doesn't seem to spread when in the oven. If you like thick cookies, just leave them in the ball and they'll stay big. As the recipe states, they are crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside - still nice and moist the following day. I added some Skor toffee bits to the recipe and they turned out amazing - will definitely make again!! Thanks for sharing.

Garlic Herb Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2006
This recipe was just okay - my husband and I found that it lacked in flavour. We didn't have rosemary so maybe that was the problem - will probably try again. The meat was very moist and with a bit of bbq sauce was great.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2006
Wow - this recipe was so flavourful and moist, will most definitely make again. It was one of the best chicken recipes I have ever made. My husband rated it a 5 star and said it was the best chicken he's ever had. I did opt to cook it longer - for 40 minutes - and it was still very juicy and moist. The coating was perfect. Highly recommend making this recipe - thanks for sharing!

World's Greatest Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2005
Unfortunately, I have to agree with all the negative comments about this recipe. They have got to be THE greasiest cookies EVER and they weren't cookies ... it was just one giant, extremely thin, cookie-like mess on the baking pan (it did taste good if you didn't mind allll the grease). They spread out far too thin - I could hardly scrape them off the cookie sheet. Would never make again. Even my husband rated them 1/5 and he is a cookie monster. :) My advice to you - keep searching for the perfect chewy cookie recipe - unfortunately, this one isn't worth the time or expense. If you did want any of the cookie mess, you had to eat with a spoon.

Sizzling Southwest Burgers

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2005
This recipe was okay but I found the burgers very dry and the taco season really overpowered them. If I were to make again, I might subsitute green onions for regular onions and use less seasoning, it was just too strong. Not sure it's a repeat though.
