Homemade Crispy Seasoned French Fries

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2012
Instead of breading the fries one by one, dump all your ingredients in a gallon sized ziplock bag, add the sliced potatoes, and shake. SOOOOO much easier, faster, and a lot less mess!!

Made these for Christmas and had no leftovers! I used the bigger cupcake liners to save time and they turned out great, just baked them about 5 mins longer.

The bomb! More like a moist cake. Made without the nuts but added fresh raspberries garnished on top of icing. Delicious!

Herb Roasted Pork

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
I was never a big pork fan until now! Bought a sliced pork roast on clearance and didn't know what to do with it. Tried this recipe and was impressed, a Monday night run of the mill dinner tasted like an expensive celebratory meal. I doubled the rub and added some vegetable oil to make the herbs spread better. I rubbed the herbs on each side of the pork slices, put each slice in a single layer in a 13X9 baking dish, covered with foil, and baked for three hours. As for the glaze, I used brown sugar in place of white, and used red wine garlic vinegar because it's what I had on hand. I served the glaze on the side because my daughter didn't care for the glaze but it totally made the pork loin special. Will pull her slice of pork out next time and glaze the rest as called for! Served with scalloped potatoes and onions from this site, along with simple green beans. So GOOD!

Black Cat Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2006
These cookies turn out absolutely adorable. I made them for a first grade class party and they were a hit. I did not use butter. I used margarine and just refrigerated the dough an hour or two before forming the cats with no problems. I rolled the dough into a ball in my hand then smashed the dough with my hands instead of the glass, then layed the cookie on the cookie sheet to pinch and form the ears. The dough looks like chocolate mousse and tastes like icing. After the cookie is baked it tastes a like chocolate cake but in the form and consistency of cookie. I did not use the popsicle sticks because I didnt have any and they were just as cute. I also used M&Ms for the nose instead of red hots, and used a pink YoGo for the mouth. Will definetly make this recipe again.

Party Punch IX

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2007
This punch recipe totally ROCKS! I made it for a baby shower and everyone was raving about it and asking for the recipe. I halved the recipe and had plenty for 13 ladies who all had more than one glass. It was so good that I'm going to make it at Thanksgiving.

Broccoli Cheese Soup V

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2011
This soup is AWESOME!! Tastes like Panera's broccoli cheese soup. I used fresh broccoli, including the broccoli stalks. Just slice the stalks in half and slice thin, simmer an extra 5 mins to make sure it's tender. I served the soup with crusty bread and Stawberry and Feta Salad from this site. So warm and filling.

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2005
Made this recipe for New Years Eve Dinner and it was awesome. I served it with mini hard french bread slices and white corn tortilla chips. I also placed the dip next to the salsa and the two made a good combination together on the same chip. Reminds me of the restaurant Cooker spinach and artichoke dip.DELICIOUS!

Sausage Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2011
I used Pepperidge Farm herbed bread crumbs instead of bread and put this in a crockpot. I added enough chicken broth to make the bread crumbs wet and cooked it on high for about 2 hrs then low 2 more hours. The beautiful thing about it is you can add more broth if it starts to dry out. I made this along with traditional bread dressing and this recipe won hands down. Will make every thanksgiving from now on!

Flavorful Beef Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
I used the apple juice because I didnt have the other two options. I wasnt sure about using it at first becuase I dont like fruit with meat but you couldnt taste the apple juice after it was cooked at all. I also used flour instead of cornstarch and it turned out great. The whole family loved it.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2005
This recipe ROCKS!! This was the first turkey I ever cooked and it was so moist it was falling off the bone. I cooked a 17 lb turkey in an oven bag and it only took three hours so definetly go by the oven bag's directions for cooking time if you use a bag. I increased the water and chicken bouillon since my turkey was bigger and I did not need to do that, would have had plenty of broth had I not changed a thing. I also used a whole finely chopped onion because I didnt have dried onion. My mother in law said it was the best turkey she ever had, need I say more? DELICIOUS!!!! **UPDATE**I have used this recipe several times now and the oven bag is what I have found to be key. Just follow the recipe, stick the turkey in the bag, and you will have the perfect turkey with lots of broth to use for gravy, dressing, or to freeze for later. So easy! To make excellent and easy gravy buy Wondra (in the store close to the flour) and follow the directions on the back of the can. You will have PERFECT, lump-free, delicious, homemade turkey gravy in five minutes.
