This recipe ROCKS!! This was the first turkey I ever cooked and it was so moist it was falling off the bone. I cooked a 17 lb turkey in an oven bag and it only took three hours so definetly go by the oven bag's directions for cooking time if you use a bag. I increased the water and chicken bouillon since my turkey was bigger and I did not need to do that, would have had plenty of broth had I not changed a thing. I also used a whole finely chopped onion because I didnt have dried onion. My mother in law said it was the best turkey she ever had, need I say more? DELICIOUS!!!!
**UPDATE**I have used this recipe several times now and the oven bag is what I have found to be key. Just follow the recipe, stick the turkey in the bag, and you will have the perfect turkey with lots of broth to use for gravy, dressing, or to freeze for later. So easy! To make excellent and easy gravy buy Wondra (in the store close to the flour) and follow the directions on the back of the can. You will have PERFECT, lump-free, delicious, homemade turkey gravy in five minutes.
