Coconut Ambrosia Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2006
I was dissapointed in this recipe, too much coconut. I took it to Easter dinner and brought over half home. Usually people ask me for recipes, no one said a word about this one.

Banana Bread IV

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2006
This was the best banana bread I have ever made. My 5 yr old daughter and 6 yr old neice thought so too as they ate a whole loaf themselves in two days, and my daughter doesnt even like babanas. I choose this recipe because I had ripe bananas but I was out of butter and margarine but had shortening. I also used 2 cups of white sugar and a 1/2 cup of brown sugar, and added about 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon. Delicious!

Bread and Celery Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2005
I used 1/4-1/2 teaspoon of celery salt in place of the celery because my husband doesnt like celery in dressing. I also added a little more chicken broth and poultry seasoning. Put ingredients together early Thanksgiving morning then put in fridge till it was time to bake. Delicious, will make again.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2005
This recipe ROCKS!! This was the first turkey I ever cooked and it was so moist it was falling off the bone. I cooked a 17 lb turkey in an oven bag and it only took three hours so definetly go by the oven bag's directions for cooking time if you use a bag. I increased the water and chicken bouillon since my turkey was bigger and I did not need to do that, would have had plenty of broth had I not changed a thing. I also used a whole finely chopped onion because I didnt have dried onion. My mother in law said it was the best turkey she ever had, need I say more? DELICIOUS!!!! **UPDATE**I have used this recipe several times now and the oven bag is what I have found to be key. Just follow the recipe, stick the turkey in the bag, and you will have the perfect turkey with lots of broth to use for gravy, dressing, or to freeze for later. So easy! To make excellent and easy gravy buy Wondra (in the store close to the flour) and follow the directions on the back of the can. You will have PERFECT, lump-free, delicious, homemade turkey gravy in five minutes.

Hot Apple Cider

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2005
I doubled this recipe in a crockpot for Thanksgiving and was a little disappointed. I followed the recipe to a "T" except for the lemon peel. I thought it was a little too sweet, and would half the maple syrup next time and add the lemon. Sadly I had to dump half on it down the sink.

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2005
Made this recipe for New Years Eve Dinner and it was awesome. I served it with mini hard french bread slices and white corn tortilla chips. I also placed the dip next to the salsa and the two made a good combination together on the same chip. Reminds me of the restaurant Cooker spinach and artichoke dip.DELICIOUS!

Made these for a New Years Eve dinner and everyone loved them. I personally thought they were a little hot and peppery but even my picky husband raved about them.

Mini Cheesecakes I

Made these for Christmas and had no leftovers! I used the bigger cupcake liners to save time and they turned out great, just baked them about 5 mins longer.

Self-Filled Cupcakes I

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2004
Recipe made 24 instead of 12 cupcakes. I added melted white and dark chocolate chips and drizzled over the top to make them look pretty. Needed more cream cheese filling in each cupcake to get a five star rating. Will make again, but will double filling next time.

Irish Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2004
Recipe seemed to make alot more than four-six servings, made enough for dinner for four and a lunch for the next few days. I didn't cook the recipe as long as it called for at least by 20 mins. Was a good comfort meal. Next time I'll make it on a cold fall day and add a salad.

Marinade for Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2004
Used regular mustard in place of dry and apple cider vinegar in place of red wine vinegar because it was what I had on hand. Next time I would definetly use less or even omit salt, and I'm a salt-o-holic. It was delicious. Great with rice.

Mouth Watering Medley

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2004
Recipe was good although I would salt and pepper the potatoes while they are cooking next time as they were somewhat bland. I also added about 3/4 c. more cheddar cheese than the recipe called for.
