Nana's Slow Cooked Meaty Tomato Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2013
Turned out great; I used it to make lasagna. I would use just spicy Italian sausage next time. :)

Turned out good, would have a liked it a little more cheesy- may try the "less healthy" version next time.

Slow Cooker Chile Verde

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2013
It was good! I eliminated the can of tomatoes; wish I had a can of tomatillos to throw in. Added a can of dices green chilies and another can of diced jalapenos because we like it spicy in my house. Needed salt. I'll probably follow reviewer Donna's recipe next time just to see. I've been a bit spoiled; my grammies and aunties make the best chili verde I've ever had, but I now live in a different state and haven't been able to recreate it without them, so I'm looking for new! :)

Glen's Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2013
Not cheesy enough for us! I'll likely use the recipe again, but add much more cheddar.

Portobello Mushroom Stroganoff

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2013
Way way way too much sour cream! I even cut it back to about 1 cup and still was way too much. Will cut it way back next time.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2013
Tried to half the recipe and I think it just didn't convert well for my first attempt at making sprouts. I will not give up hope though! I halved mine because of another recipe I saw and they turned out a little over-seasoned. All in all, the Brussel sprout flavor was good; I think I can do better with the seasonings next time.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2013
Hands down, my #1 favorite find on this website. If I could give it 10 stars I would. I make it a little bit different every time though! Just depends on what I have on hand. I, too, brown the meat with the taco seasoning, and add a packet of Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning. My crock pot is small, so I ix-nay a lot of the water, and add 2 cans of chopped jalapenos, or chop up a few fresh ones and throw them in. It usually turns into an amazing chili by day 2. SO GOOD. I make it once a week lol.

Healthier Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Really good basic crock-pot recipe! Followed it exactly and it did not disappoint. I'm way impressed that the biscuits held up the way they did; the boyfriend loved it too. Will make again when we get back into fall and winter!

Slow Cooker Cheese Steaks

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2013
These turned out really good. My steak was a little over-done; my pieces must have been too small (bought pre-sliced at the grocer). My mushrooms were no good, so I had to ix-nay them; used green and red bells. Also used Swiss cheese instead of American, and buttered the rolls with melted, salted butter before I topped them. All in all, a hit!

Bolognese Stuffed Bell Peppers

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2013
These were amazing, hit the spot for me exactly as it is. I've been looking for a good stuffed pepper recipe for a long time and was overjoyed with these when I took the first bite. I used regular bacon because I had some on hand, and didn't halve the peppers, just stood them up and filled them. Added extra red pepper flakes, and a little big of dried bread crumbs to the Parmesan topping. Also didn't have carrots or celery, but they still turned out amazing. Prep time took a little longer than half an hour though!

Teena's Spicy Pesto Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2013
Phenomenal! Like everyone else I added just a few extra tidbits- zucchini, red bell pepper, and red onion, as well as a little extra pesto, chili paste, and Parmesan. Also used whole wheat rotini pasta. SO GOOD! I will probably add artichoke hearts next time, and use a flavored pesto just to see how it goes! :)
