Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2010
LOVED these! Followed the reviewer who said she sauteed the onions and kept them in her white sauce then mixed the sauce with the potatoes in a large bowl before putting into prepared dish (great tip!) I will be making these over and over again. All guests enjoyed them and wanted the recipe.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
I have no clue why people are altering this nice simple recipe. Took others reviews and decided to make it as written! It was delicious, moist and ultra flavorful! A keeper!

Cheese Fondue

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
made the recipe as is, expect tossed the flour with the cheese as I usually do and it was delicious... I wouldn't change any ingredients. I am french Canadian and grew up on cheese fondue, it was never out of fashion here!!

Basic Cheese Polenta

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
Delicious! I have only had polenta one at my American friends place, the creamy kind. I just tasted this straight off the stove top and it is delicious. It is now cooling and I can't wait to try it fried in some olive oil like everyone else seems to be suggesting! Thanks for the delicious recipe.

Pinto Bean Zucchini Boats

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
to the previous reviewer... maybe it wouldn't be so bad if you used Zucchini instead of cucumber and tomato sauce instead of paste ;) then maybe you could rate the recipe listed ;)

Easy Red Pepper Hummus

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2008
This was a good base, but I found it a little bit too liquidy. I will make it again, but skip the water next time, there is plenty of water in the red pepper as is :). I added for sund-dried tomato halves for extra flavor (they were packed in oil, so I skipped the oil in the recipe). Great flavor!

Blueberry Corn Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2008
I thought this was a great recipe. I made a few changes to make it healthier, since I am on a diet. My kids, 3 and 2 yrs, both gobbled them up! Changes I made: used a mashed banana in place of the butter. Used fat-free milk. Used 2 egg whites instead of one full egg. With these changes the recipes nutritional values became (per muffin): 112 Calories, 0.5g fat, 0.2 cholesterol, 25g carbs, 1.3g fiber For those on Weight Watchers: each muffin is 2 points :)

General Tsao's Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2008
Followed the exact recipe to a T, except that I only had 1 1/2 lbs of chicken.. made enough for 4... was absolutely delicious! Just like in the restaurant. We call this General Tao in Montreal. I can't get over how much it tasted like take out...

Asian Coleslaw

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2007
Absolutely delicious! I only had Napa and red cabbage and it was fantastic. I only served half the slaw mix with a bit of the dressing so that I could add more later if my guests wanted more but that I could keep it longer in the fridge if it was to be a leftover... glad I did as I have a bunch left in the fridge.. it is delicious with the sauce added right before serving :)

I followed recipe to a T, but mine never thickened up, so I added a little roux. The taste was sublime though, thanks for sharing!

Bangan ka Bhurta (Indian Eggplant)

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2007
My Bangan ka Bhurta did not look like the image posted, and did not taste like Indian Bangan ka Bhurta I've ever had in Indian restaurants. I've had it often since it is one of my favorite Indian dishes. I doubled up on the spices and it still didn't change much... Not sure what I could have done to fix it. I must add though, that it was delicious, served cold the next day with left over naan! Didn't taste like it should, but was still flavorfull! I won't make this again, I will try to find another recipe.

Chicken Costa Brava

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
As is I must give it a 3. I had to double and even triple the seasonings to give it flavor and it still came out bland. However, the leftovers were extremely tasty. I will make this again, except next time I will cut the chicken into bit size pieces and cook the day before serving...that way I am sure to love it!
