Chocolate Lovers' Favorite Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2004
This is a fabulous cake! I have made it twice and it is a huge hit. Plus I love that it is sooo easy and doesn't need frosting! I like it better without the almond extract and I found I have to bake it about 15 minutes longer than the recipe says. I just sprinkle it with confectioners sugar when cool and it is such a pretty cake to serve. It is great for picnics and potlucks. You can just pick up a piece and eat with your hands!

Blue Ribbon Overnight Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2004
These are as easy to make as they are delicious! I have made them twice with excellent results and I think they will become a staple at our holiday dinners. My only problem is that they are a little sweet for my taste. Some people loved the sweetness, but I am going to try cutting the sugar in half next time I make them.

Asian Coleslaw

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2005
I was really excited to try this, but truthfully I was a little disappointed. After reading the reviews I was careful not to add the dressing until just before I served it and now I wish I had put the dressing on sooner as it was better after it sat for a while. Also, there were comments on too much dressing but I thought it wasn't enough dressing. The dressing flavor was very good and the salad was pretty, but I probably won't make this again. It was just "OK" when put all together and alot of work for just OK. Plus I have TON of leftovers!

Beautiful ganache! I used Ghiradelli chocolate 1/2 bittersweet and 1/2 semisweet. It was glossy and delicious!

Orange-Ginger Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
This is a keeper! I have never liked the traditional candied sweet potatoes. All the sweet potato recipes I have tried are way too sweet. This is so much better! I didnt like the idea of milk and orange juice together so I used 3Tbs of butter instead. I used 2 large sweet potatoes and kept the amounts of everything else the same. I used the whip with my stand mixer instead of a food processor. I served this for Thanksgiving dinner and it was a huge hit. Most of us agreed that leaving off the pecans would be better, but that is just a personal preference.

Classic Molasses Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
This is a delicious recipe with lots of spice, but not as soft as I prefer. It is more like a gingersnap than a molasses cookie in my opinion.

Luscious Spinach Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2012
This is a great dip recipe. I didn't have any artichoke hearts so I used just spinach and it was just fine. I added a cup of shredded mozzerella and increased the garlic as well - yum! Some suggestions -squeeze all the liquid out of the spinach, be sure that the cream cheese is softened and (if you use artichoke hearts) use the canned ones, not the marinated jar ones. Rinse them and chop them up really well first. Throw everything in a mixing bowl and mix well with your electric mixer. Don't overbake this.

Classic Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2013
I have spent years searching for the perfect meatloaf and this is the best I have found. It has wonderful flavor and is moist and holds together well without being tough. I recommend watching the video as his suggestions are very helpful. I only had Italian seasoned breadcrumbs so I left out the Italian herbs. I also left out the cayenne pepper as a matter of personal taste. I made this into 2 loafs and wrapped and froze them for later use. It froze well and baked up beautifully.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: May 11, 2014
Fantasic recipe! This has replaced the banana bread recipe from my grandmother that I used my whole life! I usually half the recipe to make 2 loaves. I use 2 eggs for 1/2 recipe and increase the flour by 1 cup. I have used both sour cream and fat free plain greek yogurt and the bread turns out great either way. I have used walnuts, pecans and even mini chocolate chips as add ins. It take about 1 hour 15 minutes to bake at 300 degrees in my oven. It is so delicious!
