Vietnamese Rice-Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2011
Very good and authentic taste. I have made twice and second time added 1/4c of water to the sauce and decreased the garlic to 4 cloves (and I LOVE garlic, but it was just too strong). I used normal fish sauce and bbq'd some chicken breast which I sliced and served with. Big hit with the whole family who all love Vietnemese noodles.

The Best Chocolate Cake You Ever Ate

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
Mixed Reviews: I made this cake for a birthday and did not like it at all, for me the cinnamon just did not work but even if I were to leave out the cinnamon, I do not think it would be that good. One sister-in-law said it was good but would prefer no cinnamon, 2nd sister-in-law said it was the best cake she ever had and my husband said it was very good and that he liked it.

Chocolate Frosting IV

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2006
There is no way that this recipe is written down correctly to make frosting. It barley even makes a glaze more like chocolate milk that does not harden over but stay's a liquid. The flavor is good but it in no way makes frosting or even a glaze

Fudge Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2004
This is the best cake I have made so far from this site. Everyone I make it for loves it. It is very moist, best chocolate cake I have ever tried. I also use it as a base for the better than sex cake

Creamy White Layers

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2004
Found cake too dense and heavy, would be good with a light icing or fruit, but I made a b-day layer cake with just plain white icing and I found it boring. I will definatley use this recipe when I make a strawberry shortcake (we don't like shortcake), I think it would be lovely since it is so dense and moist

Better Than Sex Cake II

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2004
Just average, was not overly impressed, not a bad cake I probably just had my expectations raised too high. I made it 2x and the second time I did not use a cake mix I made the fudge cake from this site and that made it better. Good cake just not a wonderful cake

Aunt Bert's White Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2004
Loved the taste of the cake. I made on small mistake when I did not take the cakes out of the pans quick enough, they stuck! And I was making a b-day cake for a party that started in 2 hrs. I tried to mush the broken off parts pack on and then I covered in alot of icing. Everyone loved it!!!!

Stuffed Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2004
loved it and so did boyfriend. did not have poultry seasoning so added sage, rosemary and thyme. Had to be careful to not let stuffing into sause, or it became way too mushy. So easy, just add some mashed potatoes and you'll have the perfect comfort food meal.

Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2004
Very good bran muffin recipe, next time I will cut down the sugar and add more raisins in it's place. I think I will also try cutting out the oil and replacing with a ripe mashed bannana

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2004
The best recipe for pie I have tried so far. Forgot to put in the fridge overnight, so meringue shrunk and the filling pulled away from the shell. Put it will still taste wonderful, just does not look as pretty! My boyfriend say's it is the closest to his grandmothers of all the recipies I have tried. I used 6 egg whites, 1 extra tbs of sugar and 1 tsp of cream of tartar in the meringue, as others had suggested. Turned out lovely (till I shrunk it)

Apple Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2004
I made this for thanksgiving dessert. Everyone said it was good, I would have preferred a stronger apple taste and if the flavor of the cake mix was milder. Did not taste home made. but everyone else loved it

Easy Lasagna I

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2004
recipe was ok, noodles were a weird texture even after cooking for extra time and adding a little bit more liquid , could be because I used whole wheat pasta. Ok, but not the best lazagna ever

Very good and very simple. Everyone loved it and it turned out much better than mine does, even though I thought they were basically the same, I guess having a recipe to follow can make the difference sometimes

Calzone

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2004
good, even half the recipe gave too much dough for one calzone. Half the recipe will make 2 reg. sized calzones. I just folded the calzones in half instead of layering the sides over each other, still worked

Strawberry Twinkie Dessert

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2004
not too bad, not my favorite but everyone else said they liked it and they asked for the recipe. A little to "prepared" tasting for me probably from the twinkies. Try it again but with a homemade sponge cake on bottom
