Sour Cream Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
This is really a nice, easy one-dish recipe for a family dinner at home. Like another reviewer, I remember my mom making something similar to this. For the most part, I prepared this dish as directed, but made some minor changes. I steamed some broccoli and added to the recipe when I did the chicken. After I poured the mixture into the oven proof dish, I added a layer of grated cheese, a layer of breadcrumbs and then a few pats of butter over the top. I also increased the cook time to 30 minutes to make sure it was nice and hot and just let the ingredients simmer well. I served it over Angel Hair Pasta and it was loved by the entire family. My husband took the left overs to work then next day. I will definetly be making this one again.

Peppered Shrimp Alfredo

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2010
I just made this for the first time the other day. It turned out great! Instead of using Shrimp, I grilled some chicken, cut it into slices and laid it ontop of the Penne Alfredo. It was really good. We enjoy a little spice in our food, but my 8 year old thought this was too spicy. So if you are making it for sensitive tastebuds, you might want to omit the cayenne.

Barbecued Korean Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2006
If I could have given this more stars, I would have. This is a wonderful recipe. I followed the directions to a "T" with the exception of beef short ribs, I used Beef Boneless Ribs with out bones. I used a gas grill on 350 degrees and turned them every three minutes four times (make sure that you get the criss-cross lines :-) and they turned out better than I expected. We will be having this again!

Tater Tot Taco Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2011
Sorry Mama - I was not at all pleased with the outcome of this recipe. I was confused as to if I should drain the beef after cooking it and before adding the corn and beans. As I do with all first try recipes, I follow the recipe exactly, so i DID NOT drain it and regretted it. The casserole was VERY greasy. I thought the tater tots got completely lost in the recipe. Meaning after I cooked the casserole I could not see or taste them.

Blackened Seasoning Mix

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2010
This is a great blackening recipe. I have made it a few times and it is super easy to make with mostly ingredients that I always have on hand. I do have an 8 year old who it is too spicy for so if you might need to omit the cayenne for those with sensitive tastebuds.

Chris' Bay Area Burger

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2006
I try not to rate 5 stars unless it really is a great recipe. This recipe definetly got a 5 STAR. The recipe ingredients did not really appeal to me initially, but I made it exactly how it was described, but I did add some extra garlic since we are garlic lovers. They turned out GREAT! A really good grilled burger that is for sure! In the past two weeks I have made them twice and both times I received grand reviews. I even caught my husband eating a second burger one night about an hour after dinner and asked him if he was eating because he was hungry or because he liked the burgers...He said because he like the burgers, so that was a confirmation that this is a keeper. We look forward to many grilled burgers this summer!

Bob's Habanero Hot Sauce - Liquid Fire

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
Mmmmm This is some good stuff! My hubby likes hot - hot sauce so this fits the bill. My friend grows fresh Habanero and he will bring me a whole batch over, I make this and it stays great in the fridge. When we want more of a chunky sauce, I make Pico De Gallo, pour some of this over it and let it marinate in the frige for a while. It's great that way too!

Margaritas

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2010
Such a simple recipe for great margaritas! I was skeptical, but they are definetly good! I did reduce the tequila to 5 oz. because I prefer not to fall down after two margaritas. I also used 4 cups of crushed ice. It was the perfect combination.

Slow Cooker Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
I loved this recipe. It is not your elegant chicken cordon bleu a much easier, less extravagant version, but great to toss together in the crockpot and come back to a complete meal. I followed the recipe to a T with a few minor exceptions. I used a thicken cut ham lunchmeat and cut it into 1" squares. I loved the sauce, but next time I am going to use 2 cans of cream of chicken and 2 cup milk for the sauce. YUMMY!

Carla's Fruit Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
This was really good - I made it for a gathering last night that had several children in attendance as well. The only thing that I changed was that I used 8 oz. of cream cheese as opposed to 3 oz. Everyone loved it and it was devoured quickly.

Ex-Girlfriend's Mom's Salsa Fresca (Pico de Gallo)

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2013
This is a KEEPER!!! We cook Chicken Fajita's at least once a week and I make this with it every time. I follow the recipe as written, make sure to let it sit in the fridge for a while to marinate the flavors. It is great on chips and inside the fajita wraps with chicken. Yummy!!! Any leftovers (which there usually isn't I use them the next day on an omlet for breakfast.

Brown Jug Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
I really did like the base of this soup. I actually mixed the ingredients together and put it in my crockpot on low and let it simmer all day. The only thing I did not like is the abundance of veggies. I think next time I would add brocolli, potatoes and a few other fresh veggins. The mixed vegtables were a bit too much for my desire.

S'mores

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2006
What can I say...I have made it twice in the last week by request. The kids love it. I even had the "Picky" eater ask to give the recipe for his mom. The only change I make is to make more of the Graham Cracker mix...It seems like when I get to the top there is not enough to cover the entire top, so I just add another cup of graham cracker crumbs/butter. This is really a nice kiddy dessert recipe. Great for sleepovers.

Pico De Gallo

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
This is a perfect recipe for your basic Pico De Gallo, the way it is suppose to be. You can doll it up with other stuff if you like. I also make Bob's Habanero Hot Sauce - Liquid Fire from this website and I combine the two for a chunky salsa. Very good! Thanks grneyedmustang!

Neat Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2010
I would have personally given this recipe a 5, but collectively as a family I am giving it a 4. It is very good. I followed the recipe exactly as written and I thought it was better then any of that canned stuff. Now the reason I gave it a 4 is because I do have an 8 year old daughter who loves Sloppy Joes, but she did not like these and would not eaat them. I am pretty certain it was because of the texture of the onions/celery. I did let it cook down until they were soft and no longer crunchy, but she could still tell. I will make them again!

Best Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
I am giving this recipe a three. Yes, it was tasty, but two things really turned me off. One being they were way too greasy even after letting them sit on a paper towel to drain. I did use my Little Daddy Fryer, so if I try it again, I would probaby opt to fry them in a pan with less oil. Second, way to much pork for my taste. I think half pork and half cabbage mixture would be a better mix. I used the coleslaw prepared bag and it worked out super good and would definetly suggest it.

Sausage Jalapeno Poppers

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
I had a little get together last night and decided to make these instead of my usual deep fried poppers, which are really good too! I read the reviews and made a few changes. First I cut the bacon in half and then by placing a paper towel on a plate, put the bacon down and then another paper towl on top and cooking them in the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes. This removes lots of the grease and decreases the cooking time. I brushed both sides of the bacon with honey prior to wrapping the jalapenos - this was a great suggestion from a previous reviewer. To the sausage mix I added 2 or 3 green onions and 3/4 cup cheddar cheese. They turned out YUMMY!

Baked Spaghetti Squash Lasagna Style

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2007
OMG~ Love this recipe. It is definetly a keeper. I made it for dinner tonight as a low-cal, healthy recipe and everyone loved it (with the exception of my 5 year old daughter that doesn't like anything unless it begins with chicken and ends with nuggets :-) I would not change a thing!

Marinated Flank Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2007
This is an absolutely wonderful marinade. I had MUCH success with the finished recipe. I followed the directions to a "T" with one exception...I always place my marinades in a big Ziploc zipper bag. It really works great and easy clean-up. Before this marinade I always bought a specialty pre-marinade skirted beef that was a little pricey. The evening I made this I had my company taste test both marinades and this one won hands down. I guess I will start marinading my own fajitas!
