Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2010
While my crust wasn't crispy on the outside, like so many experienced, the flavor was really wonderful and...bready. The lack of crunch may well be the fact that I used a pizza stone. In any case, if you like a flavorful, chewy, soft crust, this one will do it for you in spades. It makes a lot, compared with some dough recipes. For my 15" round stone, it made a full, fairly thick crust.

Slumgullion

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
This is a quick and easy "recipe", so I give it thumbs up for that aspect. I made the recipe as is, which imo, is the only fair way to rate it accurately. Made as written, it is passable, but rather bland and lackluster. If ease of prep is the goal here and if I were going to attempt this again, I would substitute jarred spaghetti sauce for the tomato soup. Some of the other suggestions for changes made by other posters sound promising, as well. I can imagine that most children would be very content with the recipe, as written.

Chocolate Chip Apple Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
I made this for the first time and took it to a meeting, where it received many compliments. So it is good! For me personally, I prefer a denser cake. One reviewer here said that theirs came out dense, but mine was quite light and airy. Just a matter of preference. I would also add more chips than the recipe calls for, as well as perhaps double the apples, as a number of reviewers here suggested. It needs more apples to up the apple flavor. Was happy with the moistness.

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2007
Incredibly flavorful and fits all the criteria of a true comfort food. The herbs and spices really make this a fabulous choice, especially the ample cumin. And it is easily adaptable, as well. This week I added some chicken sausage as well as the chicken breast, and used an asiago blend cheese, also mixed in a few pinto beans for color. I brought it to a chili cook-off and it got rave reviews. Thanks, Cha Cha!

Rhubarb Dream Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2007
I brought these to a party and heard nothing but raves about them. The white sugar was cut back to 2 cups, as others had recommended, and my baking pan is a little smaller at 8"x11" so I had to bake each layer longer than specified, especially the rhubarb mix layer. This made the bars very high, moist and almost irresistible looking. Easy, Easy to put together and a total winner!

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2005
Like another poster, I thought this was very good but was lacking a little something, not sure what. I will definitely make this again and take the suggestions of other posters who added an ingredient. Hubbie loved it as is. I served it with Naan.

Naan

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2005
My local Indian restaurant told me that naan cannot be made successfully without a special oven but this one comes very close to theirs! It could be habit forming! I didn't grill it in the below freezing temps here but baked them on baking stones at 425 F. for 5-7 minutes.
