I am starting to love cooking again. I love finding new recipes, crockpot recipes and try them on my family. So far everything has been a hit.
My favorite things to cook
Southern and Philipino meals
My favorite family cooking traditions
Since I grew up in the south, most of my cooking comes from my great-grandmother. Fried chicken, homemade macaroni pie, fried okra and fried green tomatoes. We had every kind of fruit pie you can imagine, but our favorite was Banana Pudding. All of our meals were homemade and they were the best!
My cooking tragedies
When I first met my husband, he brought over a 28lb. turkey for me to cook for him and my family. I had no clue what to do, so I called my mom at work and she told me how to cook it. I thought if I raise the temp. to 450' it would cook faster. So I got the potatoes and all the fixings cooked. The turkey was beautiful. I started to carve it, and it bleed all over. My then fiance came over for dinner, and he found me crying. We ate dinner 5 hrs. later. He was so understanding, just a love. When we got married he taught me how to cook, I learned alot from my great grandmother, and my cooking has much improved in 44 yrs.
