Easy Asian Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2014
This was very good, I took the time to read the reviews first this time. I am glad I did since the consensus seemed to be to add ginger and garlic! I also added cilantro since I have enough in my garden to feed the entire US Army. The peas are also just coming in, in fact other then the bell pepper, and carrot all the produce came from my garden. That is only because the carrots and peppers aren't ready yet! I also added a splash of Sake (about 1 tsp. worth)a lime and it's zest and also I used Soba noodles as another member did. Oh I couldn't see the olive oil in there either, so I used peanut oil and a 1 (t.) of garlic chili paste for a little kick. Which both just seemed more Asian inspired to me. It was very good, in fact every bit as good or better then any I would go out and get, so this one is a win. This recipe will be something I will use over and over. I also agree with some of the other members that this salad with shrimp, or chicken could easily a main course! great recipe thank you "Cookingwgreen"

Buttermilk Pound Cake II

Reviewed: May 25, 2014
This turn out pretty good! I wish I would have read reviews first! I would have used real lemon, and zest. I also would have likely added 1/4 cup of sour cream since it was a little dry. That will turn out ok I think because I'll use it to make French toast for breakfast out of it. I poured some rhubarb syrup on it I made yesterday, so it was great still warm fresh out of the oven! I followed the instructions except I only used 2 1/2 cups of sugar, otherwise it was made as shown! I'll make it again with the few changes I listed. I know the zest will add a lot, and the sour cream should keep it moist enough! Still good cake, and the buttermilk added a nice flavor!

Slow Cooker Manly Stew

Reviewed: May 12, 2014
This was a quick to make dinner, and I was surprised it made as much gravy as it did with no added liquid. I added carrot and about a 1/4 of an onion I had so it wouldn't be wasted, otherwise I followed the recipe as posted above. I thought it was really pretty good, it wasn't 5 stars but with some added veggies and herbs. That could give it a nice boost and bring it to the next level. Another poster also mentioned adding mushroom and sour cream, I thought that sounded right on target for this dish too.

Kung Pao Chicken

Reviewed: May 6, 2014
Very good dish, I didn't have white wine so I used Sake that I had on hand. I had chicken I pulled out of the freezer yesterday and didn't have any special use for it. I was thinking BBQ, but after browsing the site and searching for recipes I thought I'd give this a shot. Over all it was a nice dish, and easy to put together. I saved this recipe and know I will make this again. I also found a recipe here for asian style mustard greens, and as a side to this Kung Pao chicken and rice I may never have to go out for Chinese again. This dish is worth trying if your wondering if it will be any good, it is!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2014
Very nice side dish, I made it exactly as stated except I cut the onion slices in quarters to get better coverage. I had it as a side with pork chops, and it was both filling and a very tasty side dish. I will make this again for sure. It was very easy to put together in about 30 min.

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2014
This was really pretty good, I added a little extra lime and cilantro about 30 min before serving; using this as soft chicken taco filling! I also didn't have enough skinless boneless breasts, so I added a couple thighs I had in the freezer to get enough chicken in there! I doubt that made any diffrence to the end results, and I am also happy with all the left overs. I will try and use them up in chicken enchiladas later, so this is a winner in my book!

Jammin' Beef Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2014
This was really good, I will make this again! The only changes made were that I added some celery, and I only used 1 bay leaf that I took out after about 4 hours! Otherwise I followed the recipe above exactly as above!

Taco Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2013
It was very easy, and very filling. I added sliced black olives, and Halved the recipe. I made tacos for lunch and didn't know what to do with the leftover taco meat. This worked so perfectly, I am looking forward to leftovers for lunch now.

Jeff's Hot Dog Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2013
It was very good, and I will make it again. I didn't have onion powder on hand so I diced an onion and added it while browning the beef. Then poured off the fat. Otherwise I was able to follow the recipe. Spooned over my dogs with chopped onion and cheese, perfect!

Asian-Inspired Mustard Greens

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2013
This was actually really good. My M-greens were starting to bolt, so I cut some back and decided to try something new. This dish was a Home run! I was a little worried as I was making it, but in the end it turned out just perfect.
