About this Cook
Growing up both of my parents worked so my brothers and sisters and I often did a lot of the cooking. Mostly hamburger helper and whatever was easy but I learned to like to cook early on. I lived in Spain for a couple years in my early twenties and learned to love the Mediterranean style of cooking. Today I love to try anything that I haven't tried before. I'm not an amazing cook but people tell me they like my cooking and I enjoy making things.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook seafood. Cooked my first lobster not too long ago it was great.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mom was great at making simple recipes that looked a lot more complicated. I try to follow her traditions in my own cooking.
My cooking triumphs
I once decided to enter a contest for desserts when I haven't hardly baked anything in my life. I frankenstiened like 3 different recipes together for a fruit pizza and it turned out amazing. I won the contest and people were begging me for the recipe.
My cooking tragedies
I like to experiment but sometimes experiments just go completely wrong. I threw together some stuff one time that I thought would go together wife had a hard time choking it down so I know it was an utter failure.

Sole with Bananas
I thought it was so weird I just had to try it, and actually it was pretty darn good. Although I'm not a huge fan of the directions, why don't you just describe how you're supposed to make a rue instead of saying mix flour butter and milk?? Anyway not bad at all once you figure out how you're really supposed to make it. I would make it again but perhaps with a little less wine and maybe more lime juice.

Winter Melon Meatball Soup
Very good, although 2 eggs is definitely too much as others have mentioned, it just turned to a pile of goop so I had to add more pork. The salt was fine for me, I don't know why so many said it was too salty.

Carrot Rice
Excellent, I've made it with several different kinds of nuts, almonds seem to be best.
