About this Cook
I really didn't start cooking/baking until I got married at age 20. During the weekdays, I like to make dishes that are quick and easy. But on the weekends, I like to make special dishes for my family...including desserts.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to make are candies, cookies and anything sweet. I love making homemade candies during Christmas and giving them as gifts. I'm always looking for new recipes to add to my collection.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a family of excellent cooks/bakers. My grandmother was "THE BEST" baker to have ever lived. My mother can make anything at a moments notices and it's always delicious...she's so creative! I was raised on various types of German foods and are still considered my favorite.

I guess when I've entertained a large group of family/friends.
My cooking tragedies
My tragedies....too many to mention. lol

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole
I've made this recipe several time but today I changed it up a bit. I sautéed onion, bell peppers, and ham together until lightly brown and added it the mixture. It was a huge hit. I even tripled the recipe for a Senior Class Breakfast today and those kids loved it.

Pumpkin Sheet Cake
Thank you Sandy Rowe for sharing this delicious recipe! My husband is NOT a cake guy, he prefers more pies and cobblers, but he LOVED this cake. Will definitely be keeping this in my favorites file. I didn't change one ingredient...didn't have to, it's perfect as is!

Burrito Pie
Yummy!! This is a delicious recipe. My husband loves it. I have only one suggestion. When combining all the ingredients, my large skillet wasn’t large enough. I will use my Dutch oven next time. Thanks for sharing.
