I learned to cook at the knee of my grandmother about the time I was 8 or 9. She was a down home Yankee cook, with some southern roots. Quite a combination. While my mom is a fair cook, I call her the queen of processed foods. She can do miracles with a box or a can. I prefer the from scratch method.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making dozens of cookies with my friend and her sons, now grown. I still miss it!
My cooking tragedies
Biscuits. Can't make them to save my life!
A pot of Chicken and homemade dumplings early in my marriage. I messed the dumplings up and ended up with gluey, thick, unedible mess.
