I am 19, and a graduating Pro-Start national program member. I have been an apprentice chef at a local Italian restaurant, and since then, loved to cook Italian Cuisine. I also love Japan, and also their cuisine, becoming another of my passions in food. I can cook Chinese and French as well as the littlest bit of Spanish.
My favorite things to cook
Sauces, and spice mixtures. Dressings and marinades. I can make some of the worst round steaks change into a smoky garlic beef stir fry. I just enjoy changing every ingredient somehow, then match them with what was already there. I love making my own recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The biscochitos my Great Grandma made were some of the best you can have. Other than that, good food usually is a normal New Mexican diet.
My cooking triumphs
I have made excellent recipes with my spice mixes, marinades, sauces, etc. I also have done a one day restaurant at my school for 30 teachers, with my lowest scores being two 3/5 and the rest 5/5, with a few 4/5. The only critic was in that the stir fry contained onions. So over all, it was a very great day. It was a Japanese cuisine, and it went very well. Even the cost out went well.
My cooking tragedies
When I was young, I did this and that, and flopped, or destroyed cakes. Baking was never my thing until recently. Worst mess-up? I guess burning a traditional thin smoked chicken with basil pesto and roasted bell pepper was one of my worst moments. I made another in 6 minutes though... the customer was still happy. I now have so much experiences, I cannot simply fill this out any more.
