About this Cook
I'm 22 and just married! Thus I am trying to work on learning how to cook. Most of the meals I was taught to prepare in my childhood all came from a box, however, being a Southern woman I feel I should know more. My tastes are very particular so it's hard but thankfully my husband will eat basically anything!
My favorite things to cook
I'm looking into learning how to make more casseroles. Currently my favorite things to cook are more in the baking area, like cookies and cakes. I also love to make a good salad but have yet mastered it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family doesn't have any cooking traditions that I can think of.
My cooking triumphs
I can read any recipe!
My cooking tragedies
I don't know how to make anything without a recipe.

Mexican Rice
I left out a few things from the recipe, given the picky eater I'm feeding and the type I am: bell pepper, salsa, cilantro. However, this is a spectacular dish. I served it on tortillas as a burrito/taco filling and just loved it. We had it for lunch the next day as well. The rice was just a little spicy, but not too much and covered with yummy cheese. For anyone who likes a zesty little mexican dish, this is definitely for you!
