Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Used 1 3/4 cup flour, 1 tsp baking soda, and 1/2 tsp salt (used salted butter). Also reduced oats to 2 cups (because I ran out). Turned out AWESOME!!!!! Cookie is halfway between a chocolate chip cookie and an oatmeal cookie, rather than being an oatmeal cookie with chocolate chips. Tried baking on a baking stone that wasn't preheated - didn't work at all. Cookies spread out a lot. Used a light colored pan (not a dark non-stick pan) and the cookies turned out wonderfully after about 11 minutes at about 325°, or maybe a little over that temp (but who knows how accurate my oven is). Tried chilling the dough, but that only seems to make the baking time take longer. Turns out just as good without chilling the dough. Five star rating if you make it my way, no idea if you make it as originally recipe calls for.
