Foil Barbecued Trout with Wine

Reviewed: May 18, 2007
Yum!!! I mixed all the ingredients (I added garlic) together and then put the solid portion of the mixture into the filets and poured the remaining (mostly liquid) over the top and let it pool around the fish and then bbq'd it on low. Turned out awesome. I think the key is to use the freshest fish possible.

Marinade for Chicken

Reviewed: May 30, 2006
Yummy! I let it marinate about 1 1/2 hours. I used dried Oregano instead of fresh.

Chocolate Cream Pie II

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2012
As others did, I added an egg yolk, another T of cornstarch. I also used 1 cups cream and 2 cups milk. Instead of whipped topping, I made heavy whipping cream and stabilized it with dissolved gelatin and cornstarch. Then I sprinkled chocolate shavings on top.

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2006
Great. I did have to let the meat set and poor off a little grease, but not too much. I think perhaps adding some fresh onions would make it even better.

Fantastic flavor. I would have likd it a bit more sticky, but it was great without it.

Authentic Enchiladas Verdes

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2006
This is great tasting. I omitted the serranos and substituted canned diced green chiles. I also omitted the onions in the final step - my family doesn't prefer raw onions. I put cheese inside as well as on top and I substituted a combo of cheddar and mozarella cheese. I will definately make again.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2006
The flavor was good, but I would prefer a thinner crust. I'll make again, but either separate it into 2 crusts or cut down the yeast.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
Loved it! The whole family gave it 5 stars. I didn't do it in the slow cooker. I just cooked on the stove for a while. I cooked the onions with the ground beef because of that. I added more chile powder and cumin because I didn't have another packet of taco seasoning. I also garnished with cilantro and diced avocado. Next time I will try garnishing with shredded cheddar cheese too.

Easy Strawberry Lemonade

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2007
Perfect - so easy, so yummy. I'm tainted though - will never order it at a restaurant again knowing how easy it can be. I used fresh strawberries that I had frozen and broken into chunks.

Yum!!! Our young children devoured it and had 3rd and 4th helpings. I followed directions exactly as written - no modifications.

Caramel-Glazed Flan

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
I made this for the first time for an authentic, everything homemade dinner party for 13 people. It was fantastic. I put the ingredients in a muffin pan instead of a larger pan. Turned out perfect. Everyone was so impressed and loved it. I followed the directions exactly and didn't change anything except the pan size and the cooking and cooling times because of that.

Sweet Corn Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
Tasted awesome. But don't do like I did and try to put it into mini-muffin pan to try and have molded littled cakes. It's too soft for that, and it should be that. So, it looke messy when I took them out, but that didn't matter after we tasted it. Didn't change a thing; I cooked the recipe as written.

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: May 3, 2008
Wow! Awesome. My husband loved it. I used "cake flour" instead of "self-rising flour" and I put more pineapple juice in. Will make this whenever I make Chinese food. Would be a great recipe for a special company-coming meal.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
Very soft, which I love. I think next time I'll try a little less sugar, I prefer it a little less sweet. However, kids and I devoured 1 loaf before it even cooled down. I didn't get it to rise above the loaf pan to see if I could get it "store-bought bread shaped", where it forms over the edges of the pan, but taste is what matters.

French Baguettes

Awesome! Very soft, which I wanted to make French Dip sandwhiches. They tasted incredible. Very easy. I made 4 small baguettes. One of the kids said 5 times during dinner how much they loved them.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
I didn't buy coleslaw mix, I just used shredded cabbage and carrots. My husband normally DETESTS coleslaw so I only make it once a year. He added a bit of hot sauce to his portion and I couldn't believe that he had 2 portions and said "your coleslaw is actually pretty good"! That makes it a winner for me.

These were very good. Nice and soft. They did become a little dry the second day, as most rolls do.
