Soft Sandwich Buns

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
These were awesome. I used wheat bread flour for 3/4's of a cup of it. As I was rolling out the dough I sprinkled sesame seeds on the top and rolled them into the dough a bit before cutting out. I made them bigger so that I could use them for hamburger buns. They were the best hamburger buns I've ever eaten. I used them to made guacamole bacon burgers. What was also great is that I had one bun left over and I used it 2 days later and it was still nice and fresh.

Pillow-Soft Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
These were very good. Nice and soft. They did become a little dry the second day, as most rolls do.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
I didn't buy coleslaw mix, I just used shredded cabbage and carrots. My husband normally DETESTS coleslaw so I only make it once a year. He added a bit of hot sauce to his portion and I couldn't believe that he had 2 portions and said "your coleslaw is actually pretty good"! That makes it a winner for me.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
Awesome! Very soft, which I wanted to make French Dip sandwhiches. They tasted incredible. Very easy. I made 4 small baguettes. One of the kids said 5 times during dinner how much they loved them.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
Very soft, which I love. I think next time I'll try a little less sugar, I prefer it a little less sweet. However, kids and I devoured 1 loaf before it even cooled down. I didn't get it to rise above the loaf pan to see if I could get it "store-bought bread shaped", where it forms over the edges of the pan, but taste is what matters.

Cocktail Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
I only put in half the hot sauce and it was so hot that's all I could taste and I like hot spicy dishes. Sauce was a bit weird too.

My husband thought this was just average. A good stable recipe, but nothing spectacular.

Fried Rice with Cilantro

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
This was just average for us. I think the fish sauce overpowered the rest of the flavors.

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: May 3, 2008
Wow! Awesome. My husband loved it. I used "cake flour" instead of "self-rising flour" and I put more pineapple juice in. Will make this whenever I make Chinese food. Would be a great recipe for a special company-coming meal.

Sweet Corn Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
Tasted awesome. But don't do like I did and try to put it into mini-muffin pan to try and have molded littled cakes. It's too soft for that, and it should be that. So, it looke messy when I took them out, but that didn't matter after we tasted it. Didn't change a thing; I cooked the recipe as written.

Caramel-Glazed Flan

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
I made this for the first time for an authentic, everything homemade dinner party for 13 people. It was fantastic. I put the ingredients in a muffin pan instead of a larger pan. Turned out perfect. Everyone was so impressed and loved it. I followed the directions exactly and didn't change anything except the pan size and the cooking and cooling times because of that.

Easy Strawberry Lemonade

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2007
Perfect - so easy, so yummy. I'm tainted though - will never order it at a restaurant again knowing how easy it can be. I used fresh strawberries that I had frozen and broken into chunks.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
Loved it! The whole family gave it 5 stars. I didn't do it in the slow cooker. I just cooked on the stove for a while. I cooked the onions with the ground beef because of that. I added more chile powder and cumin because I didn't have another packet of taco seasoning. I also garnished with cilantro and diced avocado. Next time I will try garnishing with shredded cheddar cheese too.

Foil Barbecued Trout with Wine

Reviewed: May 18, 2007
Yum!!! I mixed all the ingredients (I added garlic) together and then put the solid portion of the mixture into the filets and poured the remaining (mostly liquid) over the top and let it pool around the fish and then bbq'd it on low. Turned out awesome. I think the key is to use the freshest fish possible.
