About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
All things southern! I love to bake and eat my grandmother's recipe for MACARONI & CHEESE! It's a favorite of all my friends, family, and co-workers. It is the most requested item anytime a group gathers!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Fried Chicken, Collard Greens, Macaroni and Cheese, Potato Salad, Pecan Pie, Baked Ham, Turkey, Sweet Potato Pie, Catfish and Cheese Grits,Broccoli Salad, Creamed Corn - And that's just on a regular Tuesday!
My cooking triumphs
Red Velvet Cake cupcakes, Hummus, Pecan Bundt Cake, Black Bean Tofu, Key Lime Cake cupcakes, Pecan Pie,
My cooking tragedies
There have been so many recipes laid to rest on my way to cooking and baking perfection. So many good ingredients wasted asking the question, 'I wonder what that will taste like?' And even more massacred with the ever popular, 'I'll just add a little more of this!' They all shall remain nameless for their sake and that of their families, ;-)

Fluffy Pancakes
Everthing I needed was already in my kitchen. Just the right amount of fluffy. Recipe needed no tweeking and I added blueberries to some and had super tasty results! Family has already requested I make these again.

Pecan Pie
Great pecan pie! I stirred my pecans into the mix then poured into the pie shells. Also, I covered the crust edges with foil the entire baking time and it did not burn.

Five Pepper Hummus
Great hummus! I love spicy food and this was right on the money! I did however omit the cayenne so as to actually taste the hummus flavor along with the jalapeno. I think this recipe is just as tasty without the cayenne.
