Sean's Falafel and Cucumber Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
Made this exactly as written except tripled the recipe. It was wonderful...I used mint however in the sauce instead of dill just because it was my preference. It was WONDERFUL!..Thanks for the recipe. It does take a bit of work to mash up the chickpeas by hand...but well worth the work for the result.

I made this for my daughters graduation party. It was absolutely great! I used 1 quart half-n-half and 1 quart heavy cream. I used 1/4 of a madagascar vanilla bean and kept everything else the same. It was not grainy and it was very creamy. Everyone loved it!!!!! Thank you for such an easy and tasty recipe!

These pancakes are very, very, very good. My husband was a truck driver and I have definately eaten my share of truck stop cakes. I love the texture. Fluffy but still has good substance. I love these.

Almond Biscotti

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2007
My 13 year old son made these for me as a surprise. I came home just as the loaves came out of the oven. They were beautiful. They cut and crisped up wonderfully. He used vanilla cause that is what he found and they were absolutely wonderful. I will add these to my menu of biscotti's that I sell during the holidays! Thanks!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 7, 2007
I followed this recipe exactly as written for 2 loafs of bread. The bread really raised well while cooking but it seems not to be as sweet as I'm used to and there is something missing but i'm not sure what it is. I will try it with breakfast in the morning to see how it toasts. Maybe letting it sit overnight will help it. Not sure if I will make it again or not.

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2007
I know this is a wonderful recipe. I have been making this for years. I used to go visit my friend and then go watch her mother-in-law cook, This is al most exactly her recipe. The only changes she would make and I still do are use 1/2 tsp cumin seed instead of the graound coumin and also she would use a couple pieces of fresh garlic minced and browned with the onions. The rest is exactly as she made it and MMMMMMMM so good!

Chicken Broccoli Supper

Yum! This is really good. My son who will turn up his nose at broccoli will eat this and take seconds. I put in about a half cup chopped onions also and top it with bread crumbs and a few dots of butter. It is scrumptious! Thanks

Quick Gnocchi

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2006
wonderful flavor. Not hard to make but time consuming if you make the ridges. My kids loved it. I served it with an alfredo sauce and the leftovers were eaten at work - I took it for lunch but my co-workers ate most of it.

Corn Pudding V

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
This recipe tastes very good and it is easy to make with items I have on hand. I made it for a Christmas potluck with the family. Everyone was asking who made it and what was in it. I had a bit left over and warmed it the next day but it was a bit chewy. I will make this again though just enough to eat for a meal.

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
It has a WONDERFUL flavor but it took forever to raise. The loaves came out very dense. I started this about 12 noon and finally had the loaves partially raised and baked at 10 pm. Don't know what happened because everyone said it raised quickly. My yeast is good because I used it the day before with another bread recipe and it worked great. I probable will try this again and shape the loaves the second raising instead of the 3rd time. Thanks - it does taste great.

Never Fail Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2005
Wonderful! I made a double batch. I used 1/2 butter and 1/2 shortening. My husband was craving garlic cheese biscuits and asked me to make the biscuits like Red Lobster so I added 1 cup shredded cheese, 1 tsp garlic powder and 1/4 cup extra milk to the recipe. I mixed until just moistened and dropped them by teaspoon full on to the ungreased sheet pan. After they baked I brushed them with melted butter and 1/2 tsp garlic powder. They were all eaten up! Served with spaghetti and salad. Thank you. I will definately make these again either plain or jazzed up!

Onion Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2005
All I can say is WOW WOW WOW! This is incredible. Tastes like I have gone out to my favorite pasta restaurant! My daughter won't stay out of it until meal time. I used 2 onions cause that is all I had, added 2 cloves fresh minced garlic and 2 tbls butter and just enough olive oil to streak my pan bottom. I was wanting to have homemade mac and cheese but this really hit the spot. Served it with roasted chicken found on allrecipes. Delish!

Broccoli, Corn, and Green Bean Saute

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2005
This was great. My kids even liked it. A wonderful way to serve vegetables packed with flavor. I only used 2 tbls of butter as my husband is on a heart healthy diet and also had to substitute dried italian seasoning for oregano. I used a couple of sprinkles of parmesean cheese for the feta cause I didn't have any of that either. I was good anyhow. Thanks

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2005
As the name of the recipes states: GOOD OLD FASHIONED PANCAKES! These are great! I did not have any milk as my 3 children are "milkalcholics" and I had already started the mix for the batter so I used plain water instead and they were still fantastic. I doubled the recipe to 16 and they were all gone! Thanks
