Leek and Fennel Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2012
This is a perfect recipe, as a base and something to play with. I made this, but I also cleared out a bunch of other veggies from the fridge. Carrots, corn, diced red/green peppers. I pureed this with some of the other ingredients, and to make it heartier, I also left some chopped ones along with adding cream to thicken. And I think I probably added a pinch of nutmeg.

Creamy Pesto Shrimp

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2012
Excellent meal! I used much more pepper -probably a tablespoon because I love pepper, and tri-colour spirals instead of linguine. As well, I sauteed some sliced chicken and added it to the sauce at the end instead of shrimp. Oh -and for pesto, I used the pesto recipe on this site by ANDERVAL. Delish!

Pesto

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2012
This will be my go-to pesto recipe. I actually liked the amount of garlic, but perhaps the cloves I have are smaller than average. Unlike others, I included parsley in mine and thought it tasted great -not sure if it even makes much of a difference with or without that small amount. I used this pesto to try "Creamy Pesto Shrimp Recipe". Amazing.

Creamy Parmesan and Sun-Dried Tomato Chicken Penne

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2012
Quite good. I seasoned the chicken with salt, pepper and oregano before cooking and I added sliced carrots and mushrooms. I'll definitely make it again, especially when crunched with time.

Mexican Chicken I

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2012
Not bad. I followed the cooking time recommended by the reviews and the chicken turned out great. I also seasoned the chicken with taco seasoning II, adding some of the same seasoning to the salsa. I also mixed in a can of black beans and corn with the salsa. I topped it with cilantro at the end and served it with Mexican rice. I'll probably make it again when I'm too rushed to make something better for dinner.

Seven Layer Dip I

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
I've become rather famous among my partner's friends for this dip! It's a meal in itself and the only modifications I've made were the suggestions of adding taco seasoning to the beef and sour cream.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
This was quite good, especially if you're a big fan of a very rich dip. I think that if I make this next time, I will add some sun-dried tomatoes to bring some more depth of flavour to the Alfredo-heavy taste of this dish. If you're a little off by measurements, it would probably be good to lean towards more artichokes/spinach and less of the other ingredients.

Apple Breakfast Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
I will DEFINITELY make this again! First time to make it modifications: added 2 tbsp oil, 1/2 c. crushed walnuts, 1/2 c. crushed pecans, nutmeg instead of cloves, half brown/half white sugar, grated apples, topped with whole walnuts and pecans to make it pretty. Next time, I'll do the same thing, but add 1-2 more grated apples.

Skillet Herbed Chicken with Mustard

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2007
Would have been much better without so much tarragon. I'm sure that if I cut the tarragon in half or even more, that it would have been excellent.

Hearty Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2007
Kind of bland. Needs salt. I added a little cumin and a little curry powder and it tasted great after that. Also, I added kernel corn and cut green beans. Very filling.

Moroccan Tagine

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2007
I used a can of mixed beans instead of garbanzo beans. I also added some cauliflower. Extra spices I used were: cumin, curry powder, tumeric, cinnamon. These, along with the other spices, I added with the onions in the very beginning, which gave the chicken more flavour. I also added a handful of chopped cilantro before serving.
