Cowboy Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
Amazingly delicious! I did substitute butter for the margarine, and added 1/3c. extra flour so they wouldn't spread too thin. I also used only brown sugar to ensure a nice color.

Texas Pork Ribs

Only used the recipe for the rub, totally amazing! We even had a pretty lousy cut of meat but it transformed it into a huge treat. We'll use this again and again!

Soft-N-Fluffy Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2010
These are soft and fluffy and delightful! I don't have a bread machine, so made them by hand, and they turn out beautifully! I've tried a lot of recipes for buns and these have been the best by far.

Lemon Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2010
This recipe is amazing! It makes a lovely, very lemony loaf. I use the zest from one lemon, and substitute orange juice for the milk for a even more citrus flavor.

Blueberry Scones

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
Wonderful! I don't know why everyone was complaining that the batter was wet -- scone batter is supposed to be very wet, that's what makes the scone light and fluffy. If you're having trouble handling the dough, flour your hands and pat it into a circle on your surface covered very liberally with flour. We like to brush the top of our scones with a little milk and sprinkle with sugar.

Thai-Style Peanut Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
Great peanut sauce recipe -- tastes just like the one my Thai friends make for us. I added twice as much coconut milk for a more "runny" sauce. My kids loved dipping their sticky rice balls in this sauce, and so did I!

Lemon Cream Cupcakes

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2009
A big disappointment. I wish I had made the boxed cake mix rather than waste my ingredients. I'm surprised at the positive reviews, mine don't taste lemon-y at all, despite 2 Tbsp. of lemon zest.

Dill Pickles

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2008
I made these pickles last year for the first time, and they were such a hit, I am working on my second batch right now! We love everything about this recipe, it is so easy! My 3 year old daughter likes the garlic that is in the jar as much as she likes the pickles. I also cut the cukes into spears to squeeze in as many as possible per jar. Lovely!

Burnt Sugar Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2006
This cake has such a beautiful color, it turned out well and was so easy to make. The caramelized sugar was the only part I was worried about -- I thought I had burnt it, and I didn't read the part about pouring the hot water in slowly. Oops! Be more careful than I was. But despite my mistakes, it turned out great.

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2004
These donuts are great. Light and fluffy, and good hours later. I made them in high humidity and hot, hot weather and they still turned out perfect. Be careful not to roll out the dough too many times, too much added flour will make them stiff and dry. I got more than 3 dozen, beautiful, big donuts from this recipe, twice what the original recipe said.

Basic British Scones

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2004
My husband loves these scones, and he is a tough critic. I've made them several times with perfect results each time, and I tried a small variation on these today which worked out wondefully! I added 1/2 tsp. of nutmeg to the dry ingredients, and used 1/4 C. of brown sugar in place of the white sugar. Made a lovely caramel colored scone, which tastes divine.
