This was a very tasty way to do pork chops. I used cream of celery, and added some sliced potatoes, carrots and a little onion, since I only had two pork chops to cook and didn't want to waste the sauce. This worked really well, and turned it into a one dish meal instead of just the meat. I cooked it for about 20 minutes without the sauce, then for about an hour after adding the sauce. I also sprinkled some onion soup mix over the whole thing. I think it is possible that others who found the meat slightly tough cooked it too little, rather than too long - I checked mine after 30 minutes with the sauce and found that the chops were not yet fork tender - after another thirty minutes they were perfect. If you cook pork chops with sauce in a covered dish, they are not going to toughen with longer cooking - if anything, they will get too mushy. Although I did add some extra ingredients, I really did not change the basic recipe, and we enjoyed it very much - thanks!
