I'm a young 20-something whose fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and Korean language. Lived for quite a while in BeiJing,China and currently living in Seoul, South Korea. In Asia you'll find that a good oven is hard to come by as traditional Asian food never uses an oven. Because I'm settling down and preparing to marry my long-time Korean boyfriend I want to share with him my culture through food.
My favorite things to cook
I'll always love sweets which I have a talent for making!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Most of the food I grew up eating were recipes passed down from my mom's mother. Our cooking treasure is the yellowed pages of my grandmother's old cookbook.
My cooking triumphs
Rainbow crepes with matching fruit fillings.
The recipe I use is from Iced Jems: http://www.icedjems.com/2011/03/tutorial-fruity-rainbow-pancakes/
My cooking tragedies
The first time I make anything... But who doesn't fail the first time? The more I practice the more they become masterpieces. Unless I'm tired... then I make some awfully stupid mistakes...
