Yesterday was a wake-up call for me. At 48, I am "on the cusp of several serious desieses." This according to Dr. M.
Sigh... Well, I shouldn't be surprised. Acually, I'm not. I have felt it for a long time now. I have to turn my health around now or it will be "too…
I am the lucky wife of a wonderful man, the mother of four incredible boys. After several years of classroom teaching, I am now an administrator for a large Head Start program. I am also a semi-professional photographer. We live in fly-over country with our black lab, Shadow.
My favorite things to cook
I am looking for new favorites, because I am trying to adopt new, healthier eating habits. Hoping to find recipes that are big on flavor and nutrition while also quick and easy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My children and I bake many, many cookies at Christmas, and they always do make-your-own-pizzas on Christmas Eve.
Christmas is always ham, and my boys can request anything they want for dinner on their birthdays, which usually means pizza or wings.
My cooking triumphs
I learned to make chicken parmegiana, my husband's favorite dish, ALMOST as well as his mother!
My cooking tragedies
Any attempt at baking yeast bread has met with disaster. Those little yeast spores just don't like me.
