Russian Cabbage Borscht

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2013
This soup was easy to put together once you got everything chopped up. I used beef broth instead of vegetable (and had to put in an extra too cups because there wasn't enough liquid). My only complaint was that it was a bit too salty for my taste ... I would definitely omit the salt and just add it to taste at the end. Or maybe replace some of the broth with water.

Chocolate Cream Pie II

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2012
So yummy! Just the right flavor! I took the advice of other reviewers and used 4 tbsp cornstarch and 4 egg yolks ... it turned out perfect! I used a deep dish pie crust and I still had a lot of filling left over (a cereal bowl full!). Next time I'll get some mini pie crusts to use up the leftover filling.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2011
Very good! The recipe says it's 4 servings but I think it's more like 8 (especially if eaten with a little vanilla ice cream on the side). I think I would have preferred more topping so I think I'll try doubling that next time.

Maybe it was the BBQ sauce I used but we did not care for this.

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
My husband loves banana cream pie but would only eat one piece of this. There are WAY too many bananas ... the filling is delicious but you could hardly taste it! If I ever make this pie again I would double the filling and cut the bananas by at least half!

I only brined my turkey for about 20 hours ... I think it could of been done a lot longer ... maybe 48 hours.

Peach Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2007
These were very good. I added 1/2 c. milk (they were still really thick) and another cup of peaches. I also sprinkled cinnamon sugar on top before baking. Thanks!

Plum-Kissed Pear Jam

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2007
Very Yummy and very easy!! I had a bunch of plums that were over-ripe and getting mushy and they worked great in this. I didn't make any changes! Great Jam! It made about 6 pint size jars.

Lana's Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2007
Very good and very easy to make. I did make some of the changes others had suggested. I only used about half the meatballs (I froze the other half for later) and I reduced the cornstarch to 2 tbsp. Next time, however I will double the amount of sauce -- there wasn't nearly enough, even though I only used only half the meatballs. Overall a very good recipe!

Apricot Glazed Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2006
This turned out pretty good - kind of plain. I covered it while it was simmering so it cooked a little faster. If I hadn't I'm sure it would have taken longer than 20 minutes. I doubled the cornstarch and water but the sauce was still a little thin. I will make this again but next time I think I'll double the apricot perserves.

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2006
These turned out great. I took the advice of several reviewers and doubled the honey mixture. I think you could triple it and still have it taste great (of course, I have quite the sweet tooth!) I added garlic powder and cooked it for about an hour. Turned out great! Thanks

Blueberry Zucchini Bread

This was very good! My kids couldn't get enough of it. I substituted applesauce for half the oil and cut the sugar by 1/2 cup. I also used frozen blueberries, thawed and it turned out great!

Very delicious and very easy. I added a little garlic powder to mine and it turned out great! A lot of reviewers said that you must SHRED the chicken but I didn't and it turned out great. I think it works great both ways! Thanks!!

Cold Macaroni and Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2006
This was a very good starter recipe but it definitely needs a few extra ingredients to make it yummy! I omitted the peas and added diced celery, green onions, cubed cheddar cheese, and sweet relish. It needed a lot of seasoning and I used mayo, horseradish sauce, seasoning salt, garlic salt and pepper. With all the additions it turned out great!
