Fried Cabbage with Bacon, Onion, and Garlic

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2014
My family loved this dish. I modified it slightly by adding kielbasa and about 1/2 teaspoon of salt only because a tablespoon seemed like way too much for our liking. You can always add more, but can't take it out if it's too salty. It made enough for two adults and two children, but no leftovers. I might double the recipe next time just so we can have some for lunches. Great dish! It's a keeper.

Crab-Stuffed Filet Mignon with Whiskey Peppercorn Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
Made this for my husband for father's day, and he said it was better than ANY filet mignon he's ever had at any steak restaurant. It truly was an amazing dish. You will not be disappointed. I prepared garlic mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus to go with it. Also, it may take longer than the 1 hour 30 minutes from start to finish. It took me 2 hours, but I think it's because I had to cook the steaks a little longer because they were so thick.

Thai Ground Chicken Basil

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
My husband and I loved this recipe. Per other reviews, I made the following changes: in place of peanut oil, used sesame oil, used about 5 cloves of minced garilc, used lean ground turkey in place of the ground chicken, used 3T of sweet chili sauce in place of the Thai chiles, 3 teaspoons of lite soy sauce, 3T of fish sauce, used the juice of 1/2 a lime, sliced up 1/2 green bell pepper, 1/2 red bell pepper, 1/2 onion, and julienned 2 baby carrots. Next time I will add more basil since it does shrink up a lot, and if you like it spicy add some red pepper flakes to taste. Excellent!

LuvAnn's Guacamole

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
We loved this recipe. We did make a few alterations to adjust to our liking. We added a few more avocados, cut back on the red onion a little bit, added a little bit of cumin and chili powder in place of the jalapenos. It turned out wonderful!!

Banana Crepes

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
These were fabulous! I will definitely make these again. Next time I will make a little bit more sauce so I have extra to pour over the crepes. Big hit at my house!

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2007
My husband raved about this recipe, and he wasn't too sure about it since I've never made a curry dish before. Will definitely make again.

Curried Cashew, Pear, and Grape Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2007
Very tasty salad. Only need to use about half the dressing though. Substituted dry roasted peanuts for the cashews. Will try the cashews next time, but the peanuts were a comparable substitute.

Alternative Baked Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2004
The topping was very tasty, but don't use it on anything thicker than an inch (like the recipe says). The salmon filet I had was about two inches thick and the topping to fish ratio didn't work very well. Might try again with a thinner filet.
