About this Cook
Im Amber and I'm 32. I am covered in tattoos, hence the name of my page. I come from a family of people who love to cook and are very good at it. Cooking soothes me. I like putting my own spin on things and making it my own. I do experiment with new foods all the time. I have many signature dishes that people just can't get enough of.
My favorite things to cook
Steak, shrimp, chicken, andthing with bacon, garlic, and/or onions. I like using fresh vegetables and I am an herb and spice nut. I have an entire closet dedicated to herbs and spices. I like to infuse my food with unique flavors and many different depths of flavor. Sort of like I'm tattooing the food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Thanksgiving & Christmas my Mom would wake us up to fresh baked cinnamon rolls. She'd host the dinner (since she was the most amazing cook ever) & since we had such a large family we all had a job to do. Like Tommy got to peel potatoes, Autumn & Alicia would put together the appetizer trays, I would mash potatoes & stuff black olives with cream cheese (while my Mom yelled at me to stop eating them all), Buzz would do the green bean casserole, Michael would do the stuffing, Sarah & Laura would set the tables, Emily would make the gravy, a& my Mom would do the turkey, cranberries, pies, corn, pastas, salads, dinner rolls, & cocktails/mocktails. We would all pitch in when she told us it was our turn to squeeze in & get started & after all the food was on the tables, we would all hold hands in a circle, thank God for our blessings, & then we would chow down & talk & laugh. An hour later everyone is napping all around the house while Mom sneakily does the dishes. I miss those days!!!!
My cooking triumphs
Every meal I make is triumphant!
My cooking tragedies
I burn bread all the dang time. I put it i to toast it and Voila, it's burnt. LOL!
