Wild Rice and Asparagus Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2004
it all started when i bought a jar of hoisin sauce for one meal and had about 3/4 of a jar leftover. so i did an ingredient search on here and it led me to this recipe. a really excellent, flavourful and light meal! i really enjoyed the wild rice instead of tradtional basmati rice. i also think that adding some yellow and red peppers would make it even nicer. i'll definitely make this again!

this is really excellent and a great way to incorporate spinach into the diets of those who otherwise wouldn't dream of eating it! i served this with some roasted red potatoes with rosemary, and it was a great sunday dinner.

Potato Soup IV

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2004
this is a great, basic potato soup recipe. next time, i think i'll make it with leeks instead of regular onions, or maybe even shallots. i like making it with red potatoes and leaving the skins on as well. what i DID do this time around is drop about 1T of cajun seasoning in it to give it a kick and the next day, upon re-heating it for my lunch, it was soooo wonderful. thanks again!

i'm giving this recipe 4 stars b/c i think it's a fab starting point for those of us who are just beginning to use our slow cookers. the apples were lovely and next time i'm going to definitely throw in some celery and carrots and who knows what else. :)

Brown Rice and Chicken Casserole

all the flavor in this casserole were just wrong. i should've known when the recipe called for dill. it was really awful.

Shrimp Burritos

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2005
really lovely dish, could be prepared with chicken or veggies for vegetarians. the one bit i didn't like was having to dirty so many pans. next time, i would just throw the refried beans in with the cooked rice and mix those together instead of using a separate pan to heat up the beans.

Chili Dog Casserole II

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2005
i'm giving this recipe a high rating simply because it's a great use for leftover chili (which you always get when you make chili). plus, i have a childish love of hot dogs. great for kids as a treat other than proper food.

you would think that peanut butter wouldn't go well with this, but you can't really taste it and it has a wonderful texture. great use for leftover chicken and for lunches.
