Wonderful recipe. Followed recipe as written. Froze the cake before icing, when mixing the green icing I too thought it was too thick and was glad i froze the cake. When I looked at the recipe a second time I realized I added 1/2 a stick of butter instead if 1/2 a cup ( big difference ). After I added the other 1/2 of the stick (to measure 1/2 cup total, as recipe calls for) the icing was perfect and easy to spread. There was no need to freeze the cake to ice it if you be sure to use a whole stick of butter. If you freeze the cake before you ice it then while you are in the process of icing it you will have to be FAST as the icing will firm up that much faster and could be hard to spread smoothly.
