Jackie's Special Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2015
...was looking for a lower sodium alternative to my favorite meat loaf. I used plain unseasoned Panko which only contains 180 mg sodium per cup. I also used McCormick's Perfect Pinch, Fiesta Citrus seasoning, it is salt free, and very flavorful. I also eliminated the salt that the recipe calls for. Those are the only things I did to change this great recipe...and it's become a favorite...

Braised Corned Beef Brisket

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2014
Only tasted a bit that I just pulled off what I took out of the oven. If the rest of it tastes as good we've got a real winner here. The house smells heavenly and this was soooo easy to prepare, no more cooking the old way for me! My only concern was that the recipe calls for a 5 lb cut, and mine was only close to 3..I cooked it according to directions anyway and it is not dried out, but nice and tender and moist. Thank you so much.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2013
Have made these twice. 2nd time I followed some other reviewers tips and cut sugar back to two cups, we really didn't notice any difference in taste. Both batches were excellent. no more box mix brownies for my guys...they're getting these from now on! thanks Brooke

Italian Sausage, Peppers, and Onions

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2013
Made this yesterday upon the recommendation of KZASA on this site. It was really really really good. I used half sweet and half hot sausage, and some Pinot Grigio left from a previous celebration. I doubled all the ingredients, and it's ALL GONE! This one is truly a keeper. Thanks to the creator and the recommender!!

Guy Approved Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2012
Made this last night for my men...they loved it and so did I. The only change I made was to omit the liquid smoke. Used Club Crackers as one reviewer suggested, and Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. The bacon was not quite done at the end, so I removed it and painted the loaf top with BBQ sauce, and crisped the bacon separately back in the oven....will definatly make this one again.

Easy Roasted Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
Had a boneless loin about 2 lbs..browned it with some sliced garlic, salt and course ground pepper, put it in the crock pot, poured sauce mix (followed directions) over it...cooked on high for one hour, and about 5 hours on low. It was wonderful. Got rave reviews from my picky eaters, as well as my anything goes eaters!!

Easy Slow Cooker Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
My review is for the method, not the recipe. I've been doing meatballs in the crock pot since I got my first one many years ago. I do it for several reasons, the first is that my crock pots are the biggest pots I own, and I always make a huge batch..If I'm going to all that trouble I figure I might as well make enough for several meals. Secondly, using the crock pot eliminates stirring and prevents burning or scorching of the sauce and meat. It's the only way to do this, especially if you are using an electric range, .as far as the recipe goes, haven't tried it yet..will probably stick to my own -

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
I cooked a 4 lb eye roast using this method today, but I missed a step..forgot to turn the oven down to 475 when I put the meat in. It was more well done than usual but still very tender and tasty. Perhaps you folks who like your meet less pink might like to try this.

Curry Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2011
This has been a family favorite for decades. I always use Major Greys Chutney (made by Cross and Blackwell) - for those of you who said it didn't form a bell well, my tip is to mix all ingredients except for nuts, and place in the middle of a large piece of plastic wrap. Pull edges up and gently shape into a ball. place in fridge, and as it chills., give it another shaping. After a few hours peel the plastic wrap off, and roll in the sliced, toasted almonds. MMMMMMMMMMMMM

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2011
My first review was rated wrong..this is most definitely a FIVE STAR. This was really delicious. I too read a lot of the reviews, then based on the comments of Jillybean14 - Jul6, 2005, and jessily - Oct 15, 2008. I prepared a Five Star dish...thanks to all for your input...will definitely make this again.

Baked Zucchini Chips

Delish! So easy to make and so tasty. I must confess like other reviewers, that I added a little garlic powder to the breading. Baked 5 Minutes, turned them over and baked another 8 or so minutes...crispy, tasty just great!

Alabama Fire Crackers

Oh my! Just made these earlier this afternoon, I'm sure they are not "fully cooked" as it's only been about 3 hours...but I just couldn't wait! Have scarfed down about 6 or these already....have to hide them so they can continue to mellow! Thanks for a great recipe

These were super! In the interest of health I did not use melted butter, but used Olive Oil instead...the coating adhered to the oil and they baked very quickly, with a great flavor. thanks

Oh my! Can't believe how good this is..I'm home alone and may just eat them all myself! These are so good and so easy to make. I did half the recipe, and followed other suggestions to use part brown sugar and add vanilla...just wonderful..wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

London Broil II

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
Since I discovered this it's the only marinade I use for London Broil. I always buy the round steak labeled london broil, about 1 to 1.5 inches thick. Marinade for at least 5 hours, but overnight is best, broil about 7 minutes each side...mmmmmmmm tasty.

Emily's Famous Hash Browns

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2010
followed recipe exactly and couldn't have been more pleased. No more store bought hash browns for my family..these were great. The one thing I did a little differently was to make them slightly ahead of time, I followed the suggestion of making little piles like pancakes, I browned them well on both sides before removing to a cookie sheet to be reheated at 350 for just a about 5 minutes when I was ready to serve...I just didn't have room on my stove top for all the frying pans I needed, they tasted great and the family ate them all..and asked for repeats next time we do BFD.
