Mushroom Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2006
My husband and I loved this recipe. I took the advice of others. I added salt, pepper, garlic powder and herbs de provence to the flour. I sauteed the mushrooms with some fresh spinach, fresh garlic, and sherry. I served over angel hair pasta. Delicious!

Raspberry-Glazed Rosemary Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2007
I thought this recipe was OK. I agree that the rosemary needs to really be crushed. Mine still had some uncrushed pieces that made the recipe less appealing. I might try it on pork chops, using more honey mustard next time.

Best Ever Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
This is delicious. I followed some of the other reviewers' suggestions. I browned the beef in a cast iron pot. I removed beef and set aside while I sauteed chopped onion and mushrooms. I added large carrots and celery pieces, chopped potatoes, frozen green beans, and frozen peas. (skipped the cabbage) I cut back broth to 32 oz. I added about 1 TB Worcestershire sauce also. I covered the pot and placed in 350 degree oven for at least an hour. I removed the celery and carrot pieces and pureed them in a blender. I mixed a little corn starch with the pureed veggies and returned to pot. This thickened up the stew a bit. My husband loved it.

Hawaiian Beach Shrimp

I wasn't a big fan of this recipe. I think that the lemon pepper really overwhelmed the rest of the flavors.

Buttermilk Noodle Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
This was really good! I don't make a lot of casserole style meals, but I had thought this looked interesting when I saw it used buttermilk. It was really flavorful and I would definitely make it again.

Lemon Curd Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
I made these for a party and they were a hit. I thought they were tangy and not overly sweet. I believe the topping really made the dessert.

Halibut with Rice Wine

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2007
Wow, this was delicious. This was one of the best tasting fish dishes I have had. I would agree that the cilantro really makes the dish incredible. Do not leave it out. I think next time I will double the sauce. We served the fish with Sobe noodles. As they didn't have a lot of flavor, the sauce really enhanced the side dish too. EXCELLENT!

Roasted Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2007
Both my husband and I really thought this was excellent. I bought a rotiserre chicken from the grocery store and canned chicken broth (fat free/low sodium). I did everything according to direction. We loved the taste. I think it was a little thick, so next time I might add a bit more broth. Otherwise, awesome!

Navy Bean Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
I loved this soup so much! I only changed a few things: Used all chicken broth instead of water/bouillon. Used 2 onions, fresh parsley, and cayenne pepper instead of black. I added a ham hock purchased at the store. This ham hock apparently had some salt, as I needed no additional salt for the soup. I really don't like tomato based soups. But, after reading the reviews, I realized that the chopped tomatoes would not turn into a tomato soup. I wouldn't leave them out, as I think they added to the soup. But they didn't cook down into a tomato-based soup, for which I was happy. I think that the soup was marvelous. I might change next time to use "reduced sodium" chicken broth, as the ham hock provides all the salt the soup really needs.

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2012
We absolutely loved this! Following helpful advice of others, I browned in garlic olive oil. Used also plenty of garlic powder and minced fresh garlic. Used 2 cans beef broth, onion soup mix, baby carrots, and mushrooms. We served with oven roasted seasoned fingerling potatoes. Yum!! Thanks for the awesome recipe.
