Chorizo Breakfast Burritos

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2005
Thought this would be like what I got back home in Texas. These were good, but not "eggy" enough for me. I will make these again, but use more eggs next time, as I want a more of a scrambled egg type burrito. This was all meat, like no egg at all in it.

Peppered Bacon and Tomato Linguine

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2007
This was delicious, although I only gave it 4 stars due to the fact that the way the recipe is written, you really don't end up with ANY sauce. I had to double up on the sauce ingredients (with lots of extra garlic) and I even cut back on the pasta. Will definitely make again though. Oh I also used only a small amount of the bacon drippings, NO WAY you need all of that to saute. And I was also a little upset as there is no directions on WHAT TO DO WITH THE BACON. Is it supposed to be incorporated in the pasta/sauce or sprinkled on top with the cheese? Well anways......mine turned out delish....hope yours does too.

Slow Cooker Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
This is fantastic!!! I used the shredded pork to make flautas. I dipped wheat tortillas in hot oil, rolled the meat up inside each one, then baked in a 350 oven for 25 minutes. Top off with sour cream and your favorite mexican garnishes. Everyone raved about em and they were eaten up quickly.

Oatmeal Cranberry White Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2005
Oh my goodness are these GOOD! But to be fair I did bake these according to the other raters suggestions. I added vanilla, used fresh cranberries (as I had those on hand), was out of flour (or I would have used whole wheat) so I used self rising (all I had), and I did flatten out the cookies before I baked them. I am also a nut lover, so next time I make these, and I will, I will throw in some chopped nuts. Oh, I also got 3 1/2 dozen from this batch, maybe I made them smaller than they need be, but I didn't want them baking too close together....and I did cut back on the baking time...9-10 minutes. Yummy!! Please give these a try.

Garlic Aioli

Reviewed: May 12, 2010
This was good, but I only used 2 TBSP of the lemon juice and it was STILL too much. Next time I will cut it down even more.

Chili Cheese Dip III

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2006
I have made this dip for years. I make mine with Hormel Chili WITH beans, I don't like it without the beans (tried it once cause I couldn't find my normal ingredient)....I also don't use that much cream cheese, 1 8oz block is plenty. This dip looks nasty...lol...but it is always requested and now all my friends have it at their own parties...I have NEVER seen any leftovers.

Artichoke Cheese Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2006
Taste as good, if not better than any restaurant. I used the whole can of artichokes and added extra on the cheeses. Only "extra" ingredient I added was about 5 cloves of minced garlic. The garlic added the perfect touch (imo). Mmmm Mmmmm Yummy..........(update).........I made this again for a card party and forgot to put the garlic in that time, it was still good, but I decided I really like the garlic addition.

Sauteed Green Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2006
Loved this! I used peppered bacon. Yum. Next time I won't use so much of the bacon grease though. I like my veggies to have a more fresher taste. They were coated a little to much (with the grease) for my taste. Should have strained the grease off before putting in their serving tray. Will make again though!

Country Pasta with Mozzarella

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2006
I have made this twice now. We love it. I used peppered bacon, a LOT of garlic, fresh grated parmesan and cajun spice seasoning instead of the cayenne pepper. Delish! There is never leftovers!! LOL

Chili with Ground Pork

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2006
I had a jar of red peppers in tomato sauce that I used instead of the red pepper and can of tomato sauce. My dish turned out a little dry as I didn't have "enough" tomato sauce. Hubby loved this dish. (Didn't add the nutmeg either as I wasn't sure I had any and too lazy to look! LOL)

Tuna Patties

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2007
I used bread crumbs instead of the stuffing mix and sprayed my pan with Pam instead of using butter. Good meal.

Kielbasa Stew

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2006
I like lots of sausage chunks so I used 2 lbs, don't care for beef broth so I substituted chicken and I threw in some cajun spice seasoning. Yummy! Hubby ate it all up and I had nothing left for lunch the next day *sigh*.

Chili Cheese Dip V

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2005
I have made this dip for years (in the oven) and I always used Hormel chili WITH beans.....I tried it once without the beans only cause I couldn't find the other and I didn't care for it. I always am asked to bring this dip to parties (I always bring enough for a double batch). Trust me, you won't have ANY leftovers with this one!!

Lemon Pepper Peas

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2006
Good....taste like peas. Be careful not to use too much lemon pepper, that seasoning is very intense!

Smothered Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2005
I used regular potatoes and chicken broth in place of the water (based on past reviews). I also added rosemary. This was a very tasty "home fries" dish. Next time I make this I will make it for breakfast and serve with scrambled eggs. (I also used almost a whole can of chicken broth cause the potatoes kept soaking it up and I didn't want them to burn). Oh, I also sprinkled Parmesan Cheese.

Okra Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
Very bland....needs some seasoning to kick it up. Considering the okra, I think cajun seasoning would work well, will try that next time.

Potato and Cheese Frittata

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2006
Had a difficult time making this. Potatoes kept sticking to my pot (guess I need a new pot)and so I added extra oil. End result was a big greasy gloppy mess.

I used "tube" pasta and instead of tuna I used crab. I also used homemade alfredo sauce.

Chocolate Hazelnut Mocha Cappuccino Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2006
I used chocolate pudding, almost doubled the amount of cappuchino mix and from what other posters have mentioned, I only used 1 1/4 cups of the milk. Totally delish. Will make this again for sure!
