Noodles Mexicana

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
I really liked this dish, but I apparently am the only one. There are 3 men in my house and they haven't touched it. Unfortunately for me this recipe made a ton. Guess I'll go heat up some more now. *sigh*

Pecan Sandies

So very good. Recipe says margarine, but I used real butter (always). And I have good cookie sheets, I don't have any trouble getting them off the pan and I don't use any of that other stuff.

Slow Cooker Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
This is fantastic!!! I used the shredded pork to make flautas. I dipped wheat tortillas in hot oil, rolled the meat up inside each one, then baked in a 350 oven for 25 minutes. Top off with sour cream and your favorite mexican garnishes. Everyone raved about em and they were eaten up quickly.

Very good, but I used chicken broth instead of plain old water.

Chili Dog Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
I agree with another reviewer on this recipe. Seemed like a LOT of work for what tasted just like a chili dog. Easier to make chili dogs and let each individual add their own ingredients to their liking...having said that....this recipe calls for WAY too much bread! I used almost twice as many hot dogs just to make up the difference, and then I used 2 cans of chili. Was good, but..it's still a chili dog! LOL It's probably a good recipe to use for a football party or something then you don't have a whole bunch of individual bowls with condiments and then you have more space on your table for other foods.

Hearty Meatball Soup II

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
I used premade frozen meatballs for this recipe and medium pasta shells instead of the alphabet pasta. Wow was this ever so good! Everyone ate it up and I got lots of compliments and asked to make it again for the weekend! LOL

Cheddar Bacon Hamburgers

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
Many compliments. I fried up some peppered bacon and used that. Didn't grill them as it is very cold outside, but I bet they are more fantastic grilled. Will most likely make again.

Chicken Pot Pie II

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
Pretty good. I didn't do all that fancy stuff with the pastry though. I used store bought premade pie crusts and I used 2 of them cause I like a crust on the bottom as well as the top. Yummy.

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2007
Very good. I didn't simmer the meat for an hour before adding the vegetables though, I threw in the vegetables and let it all simmer for the 2 hours. Towards the end I also cut up some biscuit dough to make some dumplings.

Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2007
This recipe calls for WAY too much flour!! Egads, was this batter thick!! I had to add more liquid. And even after all that they only tasted "ok". The texture is rather weird and I've had tastier recipes. If I use this recipe again, I will definitely make some changes. They weren't sweet at all, so if you like your muffin a little "bland" (no offense), then by all means, try this one!

Egg and Sausage Casserole

This recipe is very forgiving, but I wanted to make/rate it as it is written. Next time I will probably add onions &/or mushrooms....things I like. Was good.

Savory Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2007
Made these for a New Years Eve party using imitation crabmeat. I omitted the dry white wine altogether, I didn't see the reason in doing this and I don't like to cook with wine anyways. Anyways.....these were a huge hit, everyone loved them and there were NO leftovers! Yay! Kudos to the chef.

Luscious Spinach Artichoke Dip

Won't rate this on my screw up. I didn't pay attention and used the whole box of spinach. I also added some shredded Monterey and Parmesan cheeses. Was very good.

Vegetable Pizza Squares

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2007
I guess a small baking sheet is a jelly roll pan???? Which I think 2 cans of dough is too much. I used a large cookie sheet and the 2 cans fit nicely, but then I had to make a double batch of the cream cheese mixture. I think the recipe would work fine as written for a "jelly roll pan", but with only 1 10 oz can of cresent roll dough? LOL I tried another veggie pizza recipe from this site which called for ONE can on a LARGE cookie sheet. Oy vey! Was good though, typical veggie pizza. LOL

Sassy Chicken Enchilada Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2007
This made a LOT. Mine came out kind of thick cause the recipe doesn't say whether to drain the tomatoes or not and of course I drained them. I should have saved the juice at least till the finished product. Oh well. It got many compliments, will make again (with the juice next time). Very spicy! Didn't make any changes.

Dill, Feta and Garlic Cream Cheese Spread

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2007
Loved this, I'm such a feta lover. I used dried dill instead of fresh though. I love garlic too, so I might have used a "little extra" to suit my taste. *wink wink*
