Kielbasa Alfredo

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2007
Definitely a keeper! Although I didn't use jarred Alfredo sauce, there are some great recipes off this site. I make the one using the cream cheese. And I had some left over from the other night from another recipe, so I used that up. This was quick and easy and delicious. Those are the best kinds of recipes.

Pretty good. (I ended up throwing in some frozen meatballs towards the end). Yummy.

Cream of Broccoli Cheese Soup I

Taste better than it looks. The milkiness is quite a turn off, but the taste isn't bad. Was weird to have noodles in a broccoli soup.

Spinach-Stuffed Salmon Fillets

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2007
I LOVE salmon! I omitted the pesto and pine nuts (due to availability in my house). I used the oil from the jar the sun-dried tomatoes came in to drizzle over the salmon before baking. I had to increase the baking time though, 10 minutes was not enough. Haven't met a Salmon I didn't like yet!

Steamed Squash Medley with Sun-Dried Tomatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2007
I used red onion (love red onion). I love healthy low calorie recipes, especially if they include vegetables! I actually made this as a snack! LOL Will definitely make again, would go great with some baked chicken! Mmmmmmm.

Gourmet White Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2007
I had a jar of sun-dried tomatoes and a jar of basil pesto, so I used those instead of the "combination of" as the recipe is written. I omitted the tomatoes as I didn't feel like running to the store for 1 thing. I thought this was very different, good, but different. Hubby thought it was tuna! LOL (It did kinda taste like it, musta been the pesto, I used a lot of it)

Perogie Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2007
Are we rating on taste alone??? Or taste with along such things as preparation. As far as taste it deserves 10 stars, but the preparation stinks. Way too much time with the potatoes and I don't feel it's necessary. I was going to use instant mashed pototoes when I first read this recipe for convenience, but I forgot and had already started. (Maybe wanted to give the author benefit of the doubt *shrugs*) But anways, I will definitely make this again but ONLY with mashed potatoes, either instant or homemade. This is not a fancy dish which should require so much work! 10 stars for taste though!

Too bland for my taste. I would tweak it up next time myself. Hubby loved it.

Pasta e Fagioli I

Only change I made was replacing the Cannellini for Northern Beans cause that's what I had on hand. Good soup.

Chicken As You Like It

Too dry. Definitely needs more liquid (dressing) added to the onion soup mix. Flavor is good though. Recipe just needs to be tweaked.

Unbaked Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2007
Delicious. My only complaint is the way the ingredient list is written. I am used to using ingredients in a recipe as they are listed. This one jumps all around and when that happens it's easy to overlook something.

Peanut Butter Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2007
Pretty good. Family ate them up. The peanut butter in mine overwhelmed the banana. (I think I used more peanut butter than banana).

Cornbread Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
I used Mexican style cornbread mix and omitted the jalapeno peppers as that would have been overkill. Very interesting dish. Not bad.

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
I had some sausage I needed to use up so I combined it with the turkey for this recipe. I also used regular saltines instead of the buttered crackers, the rest of the recipe I followed as is. This was really good. Not my favorite, but very good.

I used Cheddar Cheese instead of Mozzarella. Good dish. I think this dish would do fine with any cheese or a combination of a few.
