Herman Reunion Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2006
Very good. I didn't have the hot pepper sauce so I had to improvise. Forget what I used. Cajun seasoning for one. I didn't have "fresh" parsley....I used dried, think I will go easy on that next time, I might have used to much. Least that's on the outside!

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2006
Too soggy for me. I thought I screwed up and I may still have, but I read the other reviews and don't feel so bad I wasn't the only one....cause I didn't want to make as much as the recipe called for, so I tried to 1/2 it. I probably used too much chicken broth still. My husband loved this though. I myself wasn't crazy about the spices. But like I said, I "1/2'd" the recipe and I don't ever measure my spices, so I still may have used to much. Glad I only made 1/2, there was way too much left over. I think this recipe would be great with your own tweaking and preferences so I won't give up on it yet. It was too easy. LOL

Stuffed Mushrooms IV

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2006
Fantastic! I used Italian Sausage instead of the ground beef (more spices/flavor) and half and half instead of the heavy cream. So good. They can be made the night before and kept in the fridge till ready to put in oven. I also grated fresh parmesan cheese over before letting heat up. Mmmmmmm. Will make again.

Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2006
Couldn't find my own recipe, but they pretty much are all the same. I always use the O'brien hash browned potatoes for this dish and did again. I also do not buy cereal so I did not have cornflakes, I used butter flavored crackers and it was just as good. I like Angelas idea of bacon bits on top. Great idea. Will try that next time. Great side dish everyone, give it a whirl! Never any leftovers!

Sauteed Green Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2006
Loved this! I used peppered bacon. Yum. Next time I won't use so much of the bacon grease though. I like my veggies to have a more fresher taste. They were coated a little to much (with the grease) for my taste. Should have strained the grease off before putting in their serving tray. Will make again though!

Easy Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2006
10 stars!! First time making gravy from scratch for me, always was afraid and thought it would be too difficult. This recipe is fantastic! So easy, so tasty! I made absolutely NO changes. No problems with lumps either, very smooth, very pretty. Yummy. This will always be my gravy recipe. Thanks so much!

Corn Chowder IV

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2006
Good enough for me! I threw in some leftover kielbasa and used shredded (probably doubled the amount, I like my cheese) cheddar cheese instead of what's listed in recipe.

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2006
Delicious! This recipe needs NO changes at all, although I replaced the heavy cream with half-and-half (that's what I had in the fridge)....not that dramatic. I could not believe how thick and creamy and good this soup was. Can't wait to make again, made it last night and it's already gone.

Golden Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
Oh so delicious! I used canned chicken broth instead of water & bouillon and shredded Cheddar Cheese instead of American. When the potatoes were done cooking I also mashed them a tad, just to break down the bigger chunks into smaller ones. This recipe definitely a keeper.

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
Superb!! I omitted the vegetable broth and used an extra can of chicken broth instead. I also was generous on the spices. Great soup...will make often.

Parmesan Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2006
FANTASTIC!!! What a great twist on an old favorite. I didn't make many changes except instead of 6 cups of milk (cause I didn't have it)I used 3 cups of evaporated milk and 3 cups of half & half. I also used 1/2 of the bacon (used pepper bacon) the recipe called for (and would rather sprinkle on top as a garnish than mix in). I also used fresh grated parmesan (not the canned stuff). If your using canned I don't think you'll get much of what this soup has to offer. My soup wasn't THAT thick, but it wasn't thin either, but once refridgerated (if you have leftovers), it got really thick. This one is definitely a keeper and will make many times this winter.

Stained Glass Candy I

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2006
I used the orange flavored kool-aid to make for Halloween. I thought this candy was just average, but I DID use only 1 packet. Flavor was very subtle, should have used 2. It does take a long time to reach the required temperature, so be patient the rest of you! LOL I had no problem removing from the pan, but I had sprayed the pan with Pam, then lined with waxed paper, then sprayed the waxed paper with Pam again. The candy slides right out.

WOW!!! This turned out SO much better than I thought it would!!! I used more bacon (used peppered bacon instead of regular)....no other changes!! The whole family loved it. This is FANTASTIC!! Would give 10 stars if I could. Definitely going to make this one a LOT!! Thank you!!

Mixed Greens with Smoked Gouda

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
What a BEAUTIFUL salad!! It's a little "bitey"....you will love this if you like balsamic vinegar. I used cherry tomatoes and cut them in half instead of cutting up a regular tomato (I don't like how mushy and watery chopped up tomato gets). Other than that, I made no other changes.

Chili with Ground Pork

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2006
I had a jar of red peppers in tomato sauce that I used instead of the red pepper and can of tomato sauce. My dish turned out a little dry as I didn't have "enough" tomato sauce. Hubby loved this dish. (Didn't add the nutmeg either as I wasn't sure I had any and too lazy to look! LOL)

Spinach, Sausage and Cheese Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2006
I didn't care for this much at all. The ingredients didn't blend well with each other at all. You could taste each one individually. But I gave it 3 stars cause my older boys devoured it. (Maybe there wasn't anything else in the fridge?) LOL
