Chicken, Asparagus, and Mushroom Skillet

The recipe sounded so good, but it turned out really bland. I followed it exactly & ended up having to add a lot more spices & salt. Even with that it wasn't all that great.

Cheese's Baked Macaroni and Cheese

This was just okay for us. I followed the recipe exactly - couldn't get the cheese to melt without being lumpy and stringy. The flavor was okay, but I probably won't put the work in to make this again.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Everyone loved it. I used panko and had to double the breading to cover 6 breasts. I baked it on a rack on top of a cookie sheet. Really good flavor and the chicken came out tender & juicy.

Chicken Marsala

Delicious! Everyone in my family loved this recipe and it was quick & easy to make. Go buy a bottle of Marsala and put this recipe on your menu plan! (I used all Marsala - didn't have any sherry...)

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Super yummy! We rolled the balls in colored sugar, but other than that followed recipe exactly. The dough was easy to work with. We made 1" balls and got 5 dozen cookies.

Vinegar Cookies

I made them without the nuts and they were delicious! So super easy to mix up. I dropped by teaspoonfuls (they looked like they'd be tiny cookies) but they spread out to about 2" cookies. Once baked they are a little fragile, so I don't think they'd travel in the mail well, but this is a great cookie for a sweet treat at home.

Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

These were really good. Spicy, but good. Didn't use bell pepper & used Creole seasoning b/c I didn't have Cajun. Andouille sausage is spicy! I think next time I'll try regular smoked sausage (I know it won't be authentic then, but the kids will be able to eat it.) Thanks for the recipe!

Chicken In Basil Cream

Sauce was a little thin, but the flavor was great! I used sourdough bread to make the crumbs & cut the chicken into smaller pieces. I made extra sauce (for 6 servings) and served over noodles. Yummy!

Saltine Toffee Cookies

Delicious! Followed recipe exactly, except lined my cookie sheet with foil (& sprayed it.) Next time I will press the pecans into the melted chocolate. A lot of them fell off when I broke it up b/c they didn't stick into the chocolate.

Grilled Chicken Salad with Seasonal Fruit

Loved the dressing. I originally cut the sugar in half, but ended up adding the rest in b/c I think it was really needed to balance out the vinegar & give the dressing more flavor. I don't necessarily like sweet dressing, but this was very, very good! Used the called for amt of oil & all the rest of the ingredients & used my blender to mix it all up. It was thick, but once on the salad it was fine. Yummy! Oh, and I used clementines and plain old pecans (not toasted...)

Manicotti Italian Casserole

We all liked this, but I think it would be better if just half the cheese was put on top & the other half of the cheese was mixed into the casserole. 1 1/2 lbs of cheese on top formed a thick, chewy layer that was hard to eat.

Italian Chicken with Pesto Potatoes

I pounded the breasts flat and then sliced a pocket into them. Take the time to make the balsamic vinegar reduction! You can do it earlier in the day and just set it on the counter until suppertime. The dish definitely wouldn't be the same without it. It was delicious!

Parmesan Chicken II

I really wanted to like this recipe b/c it's so easy to make and drumsticks are cheap! I followed the recipe exactly but these were not very good at all. If you change the recipe and use breadcrumbs with the parmesan, maybe it'd be 4 stars, but as written it was way too parmesan-y for us. We pulled the crust off and just ate the chicken which was pretty much tasteless. I'd rather just use seasoned breadcrumbs.....

Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

As written I think it would be too soupy, so I give it 4 stars. With less liquid (I used 1/4 c. of both lemon & orange juice) & 3T. cornstarch = 5 stars! The cobbler was perfect this way. I doubled the recipe for the crust and had a lot left over. The crust turned out flaky & very tasty. I sprinkled the sugar on top and then sprayed with PAM instead of trying to sprinkle melted butter over it. Delicious!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

delicious!! Instead of rolling, I just made into 16 balls, let rise for an hour, and baked in a greased 9X13 pan for 15 minutes. So good!
