Baked Dijon Salmon

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2015
Delicious! I doubled the amount of pecans and breadcrumbs for a 1.5 lb filet. Everything else I kept the same and there was plenty of mustard mixture to cover. Salmon isn't my family's favorite, but they all loved this and even went back for seconds!!

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2013
Excellent! Followed recipe until the baking part. I used whole milk & the custard thickened well & I did NOT bake the pie - just put it in the fridge to cool. Delicious!

Yum! Added fresh sliced mushrooms with the onion, and only needed to cook for about 10 minutes before it thickened up. Delicious!!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2013
I made it exactly as the recipe stated - using the full-fat, name brand versions of cream cheese & sour cream - and it just turned out kinda, well, bland. The texture was fine, but the taste - eh. I think it could've used some lemon juice - something to give it more flavor.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2013
We all loved this. I put the chicken in the crock pot (I used boneless thighs), tossed it with melted butter & salad dressing mix. From there I followed the directions exactly. Served over brown rice. Yummy!

Easy Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
What's not to like about beef, beans & cheese? I added taco seasoning to the beef after it browned. Next time I will sauté the green onions before adding to the casserole. We didn't like their crunchiness. Other than that it was yummy!

The kids loved it. We used more than 3 c. of tater tots -- we wanted to cover the entire top.

Chicken, Asparagus, and Mushroom Skillet

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2012
The recipe sounded so good, but it turned out really bland. I followed it exactly & ended up having to add a lot more spices & salt. Even with that it wasn't all that great.

Cheese's Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2012
This was just okay for us. I followed the recipe exactly - couldn't get the cheese to melt without being lumpy and stringy. The flavor was okay, but I probably won't put the work in to make this again.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
Everyone loved it. I used panko and had to double the breading to cover 6 breasts. I baked it on a rack on top of a cookie sheet. Really good flavor and the chicken came out tender & juicy.

Chicken Marsala

Delicious! Everyone in my family loved this recipe and it was quick & easy to make. Go buy a bottle of Marsala and put this recipe on your menu plan! (I used all Marsala - didn't have any sherry...)

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Super yummy! We rolled the balls in colored sugar, but other than that followed recipe exactly. The dough was easy to work with. We made 1" balls and got 5 dozen cookies.

Vinegar Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2011
I made them without the nuts and they were delicious! So super easy to mix up. I dropped by teaspoonfuls (they looked like they'd be tiny cookies) but they spread out to about 2" cookies. Once baked they are a little fragile, so I don't think they'd travel in the mail well, but this is a great cookie for a sweet treat at home.

Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2011
These were really good. Spicy, but good. Didn't use bell pepper & used Creole seasoning b/c I didn't have Cajun. Andouille sausage is spicy! I think next time I'll try regular smoked sausage (I know it won't be authentic then, but the kids will be able to eat it.) Thanks for the recipe!

Chicken In Basil Cream

Sauce was a little thin, but the flavor was great! I used sourdough bread to make the crumbs & cut the chicken into smaller pieces. I made extra sauce (for 6 servings) and served over noodles. Yummy!

Saltine Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2010
Delicious! Followed recipe exactly, except lined my cookie sheet with foil (& sprayed it.) Next time I will press the pecans into the melted chocolate. A lot of them fell off when I broke it up b/c they didn't stick into the chocolate.

Grilled Chicken Salad with Seasonal Fruit

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2010
Loved the dressing. I originally cut the sugar in half, but ended up adding the rest in b/c I think it was really needed to balance out the vinegar & give the dressing more flavor. I don't necessarily like sweet dressing, but this was very, very good! Used the called for amt of oil & all the rest of the ingredients & used my blender to mix it all up. It was thick, but once on the salad it was fine. Yummy! Oh, and I used clementines and plain old pecans (not toasted...)
