Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: May 25, 2004
This pot roast was wonderful! I used a 3lb roast, seasoned it with salt, pepper and fresh garlic, seared it in about 1 tbsp vege oil, and substituted beef broth for water. I also added 1/2 large white onion, sliced, to the gravy. Best I have ever had!

Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: May 25, 2004
This was my first blueberry pie and it turned out great! I used frozen blueberries and defrosted them under running water and then increased the cornstarch to 5 tbsp. I also increased the cinnamon to a full teaspoon. It was perfect! Great flavor and not too runny.

Caramel Flan

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2005
This recipe had great flavor and was exactly like Ive had at restaurants. I did have a problem with part of the flan sticking when I went to flip it onto the serving dish. I will try a differnt pan next time (might try glass) and see if I have better luck.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: May 16, 2005
I thought this was a wonderful recipe but my husband said that he still likes his mother's better, so I had to give it 4 stars instead of 5!

Key Lime Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2005
I thought this was a very tasty... I altered a little bit: 1/2 C key lime juice, added 1 tsp vanilla and 1/4 coconut to the crust. It turned out beautiful and a man at my husbands work said that I need to quit my job and become a baker... I think that sums it up!

Fresh Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2005
This was really good...I changed it a bit by substituting a diced apple for the raisins, left out the almonds (although I think it sounds good...I was just out), and I only used 1/4 C sugar. Also, instead of using the red onions raw, I cooked them in the bacon grease until they were just tender; that way they werent too overwhelming. My father in law who hates broccoli, loved this salad!

Chicken and Biscuit Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2005
This was a great recipe! I added potatoes and green beans in addition to doubling the veges. The dough for the biscuits was stickey, but turned out perfect. Also, I used 1/2 tsp garlic powder in the biscuits and a tablespoon on dried parsley instead of the basil.
