My favorite things to cook
I love to bbq and bake. Thanksgiving is my favorite time because I have the best excuse to make a million different things all in one day. What is better than getting to cook all day?
My favorite family cooking traditions
Now that I don't live at home anymore my mom and I have a standing weekly dinner "date" which is great. I cook for her, and we get to spend time together.
My cooking triumphs
My blueberry pie is legendary with anyone who has tried it, and ever since I made homemade ravioli I can't wait to break out the pasta machine again. Last thanksgiving I cooked a feast for 13 people which included four pies and all the traditional dinner fixings from scratch. I made a ton of food thinking I would have yummy leftovers for days, but there wasn't much left.
My cooking tragedies
When I was nine I tried to make a key lime pie, but I used evaporated milk instead of sweetened condensed and it was SO BAD. Recently I had many roadblockes in perfecting hollandaise sauce (including setting a bowl on fire...) but I FINALLY get it right (three tries later...)
