Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2014
This was good! I soaked the oatmeal in the milk overnight. I used coconut milk instead of soy and omitted the sugar. It turned out very yummy. I am going to experiment with other types of frozen fruit. Good, filling breakfast!

Yum! I made this just as directed, except I used fresh ginger and added 2 tsp curry powder. 5 star!

Frozen Vegetable Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2014
I just make the sauce from the recipe, but the whole family loves it! I double everything, substitute 2 fresh cloves of garlic for the garlic powder and add a healthy shake of cayenne for a bit of a kick. Delicious!

Tuna Pockets

What?!? A recipe all 4 of my kids enjoyed?? That makes this one a keeper! I don't like using packaged ingredients so I subbed the biscuit dough for my own pizza dough recipe and it turned out fantastic. This one is going in my recipe box. Thanks for the yummy recipe!!

Soft Sandwich Buns (Dough Hook Mixer Version)

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2013
I was pleasantly surprised with these buns! I made a few changes so I didn't know if it was going to work out. I doubled the recipe and got about 24 nice sized buns. I had to use way more flour than the recipe called for as the dough was still really sticky. I probably added an extra cup, maybe even a cup and a half. I substituted half the flour for whole wheat flour. I also used olive oil instead of butter (I halved the amount). When I was making them I was worried they were not going to rise well, but they did and they were delicious!!

Chewy Brownie Cookies

Reviewed: May 16, 2013
Oh boy, did I ever mess up this recipe! My kids 'helped' me bake these. I realized I forgot the cocoa powder when I pulled the first batch out of the oven - oops!! I managed to save the rest of the recipe by adding cocoa to remaining cookies and they turned out really good. Even the cookies that did't have cocoa powder turned out well. Overall, a good recipe with the cocoa and without!!

Whole Wheat Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2013
I'll be honest, I had my doubts about this recipe. I tried it out since I have both dairy and egg allergic kids. I used olive oil instead of canola and I used coconut milk instead of soy. They were actually pretty good - easy too! Even my picky 2 year old who doesn't like anything liked it! I served it with soup, they were enjoyed by all!

Melinda's Porcupine Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2013
Great kid-friendly recipe! I made this for dinner for my 3 boys and it was a hit with them all - including my picky two year old who only eats salad! I made it just as directed, however, I didn't have celery salt so I doubled the garlic powder and added a bit of worchestershire sauce. I also browned the meatballs in the oven for 15 minutes at 425 before transferring them to the slow cooker where they cooked in the sauce on high for about 2.5-3 hours. I was afraid the sauce would be bland but it was not. An easy meal perfect with a salad and garlic bread. Definitely a keeper.

Stir and Drop Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2012
I just pulled these out of the oven and had to come and review them right away! They turned out suprisingly good!! I made these for my dairy allergic kids and this will be my new go-to cookie recipe. I substituted canola oil for the corn oil and dipped the cookies in cinnamon sugar. Yum!

Death By Garlic

I found this recipe rather bland and not nearly as garlicy as I expected. I added chicken but found it still lacked something.

Pork Tenderloin with Mustard Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
This pork was rather tasty and was a hit with my whole family. I used a pork shoulder since I didn't have tenderloin and cooked it in my slow cooker and it turned out very tender (cooked it on low with the marinade for 8 hours). I had lots of drippings which made a lovely gravy (cooked on stove top). The mustard sauce seemed to be missing something, so I added a bit of honey and that seemed to do the trick. Overall, a hit with my family, quick to put together and easy to prepare. This one's a keeper!

All-Day Apple Butter

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2011
This is my first time making (and even tasting) apple butter and all I have to say is - YUM! I halved the sugar and it was still very sweet. Next time I think I'll cut the sugar down to one cup or a cup and a half.

This was just ok. I found it a little on the bland side, next time I will add garlic to see if that helps.

Molly's Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2011
My family enjoyed this recipe (including my picky toddler!). I dredged the chicken in flour and the sauce came out nice a nice consistency. I noticed some reviewers found this recipe salty, I used reduced sodium soy sauce and it was not too salty at all. I also did not cook it for as long as the recipe indicated, if I had it would have been a burnt mess. I cooked it for 5.5 hours on low, the meat fell right off the bone. I cooked it for 30 minutes more and it was perfect.

Fresh Herb Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
I used this as a base recipe and the results were fabulous! I used green onion because I didn't have chives, I used a shake or two of dried oregano because I didn't have fresh parsley. I added 3 cloves of chopped fresh garlic and 1/4 cup parmesan cheese. Yummy! I will be making these again!

Breakfast Buns

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
I made these just this morning for breakfast. Mmmmmm. Mine turned out more like a scone then a bun, which was just what I was hoping for. My whole family loved them. Like another reviewer, I substituted blueberries for the raisins. Otherwise, I followed it exactly. Delicious!

One-Dish Chicken, Vegetable and Rice Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2011
This was ok but not creamy enough for my taste and a little bland. Next time I will add either some sour cream, mayonnaise or an extra can of soup and some onion or garlic. It was super easy to make in a pinch and the kids liked it so it's a keeper for me :)

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
I made these just as directed (with the exception of rolling the dough into 16 portions instead of 12) and they turned out FANTASTIC! My 6 year old took a bite and declared "wow!". They are a big hit and were super easy to make! I also made a few w/out brushing the tops with butter for my dairy allergic kid. I just sprinkled the topping on before baking and that seemed to work out just fine. Great recipe!

Collins Goulash

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2011
I made this tonight, my kids took one bite and exclaimed "mmmmm". That alone makes it worth 5 stars to me. I added some onion, garlic and seasonings while I browned the beef but otherwise made as directed. It made lots of sauce, I was even able to freeze some. Thanks for a great recipe :)
