This was a big hit at our house. My husband said, "This is the best sloppy joe I have ever had." Good enough for me.
I made a few adjustments. Doubled the recipe but tripled the sauce, left out the bell pepper since we don't care for them, and also added a total of about 1/2 cup of water while it was simmering since it seemed very thick. I was afraid it would taste like ketchup, but the flavor was perfect by the time it had simmered down. I butter toasted the buns and added a thin slice of cheddar cheese. Mmmm!
I also took another reviewer's advice and froze some in muffin tins for future single servings. Freeze, pop them out, place them in a freezer bag and easy servings to reheat later. This recipe is a winner!
