Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2013
Pretty good recipe. Just basic ingredients and a lot of work for something I can get at a local grocery store that tastes just as good. Fun to make in the summertime. I took other reviewer's advice and heated the lemons in the microwave for 30 seconds or so before juicing and it helped me get a lot more juice with little effort.

Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2013
I give these a 4 because I think this is a good starter recipe. I added a WHOLE can (15 oz or so) of pumpkin and heaping spoons of the spices. They turned out awesome. My boyfriend said they would have been better with some different texture like nuts but because I don't really like nuts in dessert I don't think I'll change that next time. Leftovers were still moist in the fridge 3 days later and it seemed like the flavor had gotten even more intense! Great starter recipe.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2013
Really good cookies. They spread a lot so be sure to space them well. I didn't find them to be really chewy but they did get this delicious crispy outside while remaining soft inside. Will definitely make again.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2013
These are sooooo good. One of the best cookie recipes on this site. I followed the recipe exactly except I used cheesecake pudding instead of vanilla. I will be making these many more times. UPDATE: This has quickly become my go to cookie recipe. By far the best that I have found. Usually homemade cookies seem dense and dry the next day but these are so moist several days later. I seem to always use a different flavor pudding that regular vanilla (such as cheesecake or french vanilla, I've even done butterscotch!).

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2013
I doubled the cheese and broccoli like other reviewers suggested. Also used fresh broccoli and cooked in my crockpot for 4 hours. The flavors blended nicely. I used heavy cream instead of milk and vegetable broth to make this for a vegetarian. With my changes this was a 5. As written I give it a 4.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2013
These were amazing! I mixed the butter with the cinnamon and brown sugar filling and spread on like other reviewers suggested. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly. Baked for 20 minutes at 350. Will definitely make this again.

Slow Cooker, Easy Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2013
This was really easy to make but I've created a better potato soup on my own. I made this almost as stated except made for vegetarian so I switched the chicken for vegetable broth. I really liked the texture of the red potato skin in the soup, as I usually make potato soup with peeled yellow potatoes. The ranch dressing mix made the soup taste funny at first (and I am a HUGE fan of ranch) but after this sat overnight in the fridge, the flavors blended better. I ended up adding some extra spices just to mask the ranch and give the soup a more balanced flavor, as stated was somewhat bland.

Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2013
I'm giving this a 4 because I personally hated it but my family loved it. I made this for my grandmother and great-grandmother who are from West Virginia. They both gobbled this up and enjoyed it immensely but must be more of a dish for them because I found it way too greasy and tough. I also found that the batter fell off and didn't stick to the meat. On the other hand, the taste of the breading was really flavorful as well as the gravy. I will not make this for myself again, but possibly for them. I'll search for a better recipe next time.

Mom's Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2013
Made these exactly as recipe except used only a dash of salt since my butter was salted. These are so amazing. Makes me feel guilty for having ever bought the box pancake mix!

Award Winning Peaches and Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2013
I've made this twice now and both times it was a huge hit! So simple but really flavorful! The first time I ate it warm from the oven. The second time I ate it chilled. I liked it both ways. Will definitely keep this recipe in my weekly rotation. A crowd pleaser. I accidentally put 1 tablespoon cinnamon on top instead 1 teaspoon and my mistake was a pleasant one. I enjoyed the added spice!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2013
The dumplings definitely need to go in much sooner than this recipe calls. I put them in for the last 2 hours. I did not use refrigerated biscuits but instead used BisQuick and the dumplings turned out really fluffy. The chicken was so tender I pulled it apart with a fork, no knife needed. So simple and quick to prepare, it's nice to just have dinner done when you come home from work!

To Die For Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2013
This recipe should have been named "To die FROM" because of all the butter. Over the years I have come up with a pretty good alfredo recipe but am looking for something to top it. I think fresh minced garlic goes a long way in alfredo. I also prefer more cheese, less butter, and half and half instead of heavy cream.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2013
I gave these a 3 because what's not to like about chocolate and peanut butter. On the other hand, I have definitely had way better homemade chocolate chip cookies. These were dry and too cakey.

Thai Curry Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2013
This is a great recipe if you love mushrooms. My boyfriend does and I just think they are ok. Therefore he loved this soup while I just thought it was ok. He said it tasted better than the Thai curry soup from our local restaurant. Overall a good recipe.

Curried Shrimp Bisque

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2013
Great recipe! Wish I would have made a bigger pot! Added heavy cream and milk mixture because I didn't have light cream. Also added more curry powder because I love curry! Will definitely make this again but will double the recipe!

Potato Chowder Soup I

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2013
This was ok. I make a great corn chowder and a great potato soup. This mix was less than pleasant. I won't be making this again. The leftovers went bad in the fridge because no one wanted it!

Poblano Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2013
This soup was amazing. My sister is a much better cook than me and now I finally have a great recipe up my sleeve. Used just a touch less sugar as other reviewers suggested and used fresh corn. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly. Have made twice now and everyone loves it and asks for the recipe.
