Basil Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2004
I followed the recipe exactly and found this sauce to be wonderful! Easy to make and very tasty. We tossed it with pasta and shrimp ~ yummy! We will definitely be making this recipe again. Thanks for creating it! (I love this website).

Fresh Tomato Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2004
This salsa is so fresh and tasty. I added a clove of minced garlic and used only 3 chiles. (You may want to modify the amount of chiles to suit your tastes ~ 5 will make it hot hot hot!) Also, it doesn't specify in the directions, but I seeded the tomatoes a bit to make it less runny. (I love this website).

Libby's® Pumpkin Cranberry Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2005
Wonderful recipe!! This bread is so moist and yummy tasting. Only one change: I agree with some of the other reviews that said this bread could use a few more cranberries. The first time I made it per the recipe, but the next time I doubled the amount (to 2 cups) and thought it was tastier this way. I used frozen berries chopped up a bit and lightly coated in flour to prevent them from settling to the bottom of the loaves. This is a new family favorite!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2005
I don't know what happened . . . I followed the recipe exactly as written. The dough was so STICKY; I couldn't get it off my hands! I had to add so much flour (over a cup) in an attempt to knead it. I worked with it the best I could, but ended up tossing it without even baking it. The recipe ooked good (so did all the 5 star reviews). I'm stumped as to what went wrong.

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2005
I followed the recipe exactly as written and got 24 amazingly moist muffins! They baked up so nice with perfectly round tops ~ very pretty! I stored them in a covered (plastic) container and they tasted even better the next day. I have never had such a moist blueberry muffin. GREAT recipe!

Ham Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2005
This is an awesome recipe!! I agree ~ it tastes as though you have worked for hours when in reality it is so super easy! The first time I made it exactly as written and received rave reviews from my family. The next time, I played with the recipe just a bit: I didn't have any fresh parsley, so I added in about 1/2 cup frozen broccoli florets (thawed) with the ham and also tossed in a few sliced mushrooms (from a jar); I was a little low on cheddar cheese, too, so I added some Parmesan. It still turned out wonderful. I love recipes that give you some freedom to be flexible (and still taste great!) This one is definitely a family favorite!

Cinnamon Pancakes in a Jar

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2005
I did not make this to give as a gift. I just mixed all the dry ingredients together and placed in a Tupperware container to have on hand for busy mornings. The pancakes were pretty good and had a nice cinnamon taste. They were a bit on the dense side, though; we prefer a lighter, fluffier style pancake.

Barb's Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2005
These muffins were tasty; although they did not have as much pumpkin flavor as I would have preferred. They were quite moist with an almost sponge-like texture. They filled the (paper-lined) cups and rose up nicely while baking, but weren't particularly "eye catching" if you are looking to impress (visually).

Seven-Up™ Sheet Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2005
This cake is super easy to make and comes out very moist and YUMMY! It was a big hit at a luau-themed party we recently attended. As for the topping: 15 minutes on low will barely even get the butter melted. I raised the heat to medium and was vigilant about stirring - it still took about another 20 minutes to be completely thickened.

Banana Chip Muffins I

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2005
These are really great muffins - moist and not at all crumbly. They were a hit for snack at preschool! I followed the previous recommendations regarding the milk and increased it to 1/2 cup. The amount of banana worked out fine for our tastes, but I can see if you really want a lot of strong banana flavoring that you might want to add more bananas. Also - I'm not sure if it was my oven, but they were done/brown in less than 20 minutes.

Banana Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2005
Very tasty and super moist. I followed the recommendations of others: used butter (1/4 cup) in place of the shortening, used more bananas (3 small) and added an egg and a teaspoon of cinnamon. We did not even bother with the icing - they were a huge hit without it. Thanks for another great way to use up my VERY ripe bananas!

Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2005
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! This recipe is outstanding! It is quite simple and yet the taste is incredible. My family prefers boneless skinless chicken breasts and I don't typically have "seasoned pepper" on hand, so I just use regular ground black pepper. Thanks for an AWESOME way to grill chicken!

Lemon Lush Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2005
This is so very tasty! I followed some of the other suggestions and reduced the milk to 3/4 cup and increased the lemon juice to 1/2 cup. I also knew my family would not care for the lemon zest in the pie filling, so I added it to the crust instead. (I made a graham cracker crust). It was quite lemony, but got even more so after being refrigerated overnight. It definitely satisfied my craving for a lemon meringue-type pie without all the extra work.

AWESOME muffins! Very tasty and super moist. I have made the recipe exactly as written, as well as with some of the suggestions (like cinnamon & vanilla) - either way theses muffins turn out great!

Cheesecake Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
I followed the recipe as written and these turned out really well. Nothing too fancy, but a nice way to jazz up a plain box brownie mix. I prepared the brownies per the "cakelike" directions and they were nice and fluffy. I also used a glass baking dish (if that matters). No problems with lumpy cream cheese or runny batter over here.

Shannon's Wicked Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2006
I probably should have figured out from the ingredients (namely that there are 4 eggs and more sugar than flour) that these would be on the gooey side. These are not really a brownie in the traditional cake/bar sense. They seemed a little loose and gritty. They are SUPER sweet - I followed the recipe exactly except that as previously suggested, I only used half the chips the recipe called for. I was a little disappointed that the toffee pieces could hardly be detected once cooked.

Lower Fat Banana Bread II

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2006
This is probably the best banana bread I have ever made (and I am forever trying new recipes!) I was not specifically looking for a lower fat version - just one that didn't call for butter/margarine because I didn't have any on hand that particular day. I do not think this recipe is lacking in taste at all; no one in my house (of picky eaters) could tell it was low-fat. I love that it is so yummy and what a bonus that it is also somewhat healthy! The only changes I make are: one additional banana, 1% milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla, (I thought a tablespoon would be unnecessary). This bread is great the first day, but I agree with the previous review in that it tastes even better after being wrapped up overnight.

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2006
The spinach filling is very tasty. I think next time I will try browning the chicken first, though, as others suggested (for presentation purposes - because it looked a little pale).

Chicken Enchiladas V

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2006
YUMMY! These were a hit in our house, and the one that was leftover, heated up great for lunch the next day. The perfect amount of seasoning/hot spices. I may have overstuffed them a bit, though, because I only ended up using 6 tortillas.
