Slow Cooker Adobo Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2006
Very Good and easy. I made just a few changes. I sprinkled the chicken w/ Adobo powder and only added 1/2 cup of light soy, 1/4 cup red wine and the full amount of vinegar. Cooked on high for 1 hr then low for 5. When chicken thighs were done, I pulled them out and thickened the sauce w/ corn starch then shredded the chicken and added back into the crock. Served over rice. Thanks for this recipe!

Honey's Butter Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2006
This recipe is wonderful and very simple. The only changes I made is used 1cup Splenda, 1 cup sugar for the cake. I didn't use all the cinn/sug mixture and I used egg whites. I also spread a buttercream frosting on it (got the redipe from this site also).

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

We LOVE this dish. The sauce I made came out wonderfully thick. I made 1 1/2 servings of the sauce-didn't quite double it. Definately baste every 10 minutes. Thank you for this recipe!!!!

Delicious and very easy! I only had dried rosemary, so I sprinkled it on the outside as well as the inside.

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2013
Wonderful recipe! The cookie cake we made was better than store bought. I also use this to make regular size cookies. For those that want to cut the recipe in half, know that 1/2 of 3/4cup is 6 Tablespoons- makes for easier measuring.

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2004
This was a hit at a recent salad potluck! I didn't make any changes. When I made it again at home, I reserved some of the dressing for future use, it saves well for about 2 days.

This was excellent! I ran out of regular Italian dressing one time, so I used creamy Italian and it was just as excellent.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2007
Excellent! This was a hit at the 4th of July picnic. I used the idea mentioned earlier about using an egg slicer to cut up the fruit. It definitely saves time.

White Chocolate Snack Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2005
This is DELICIOUS!Our children love it! It will be a new Christmas tradition. I didn't have any toasted oat cereal, so I left it out and just used 5 cups corn chex. I took the advice of others and used 1 TBSP of oil and spread on the counter to cool.I sprinkled lots of red and green sprinkles to make it more festive.Thank you!

Banana Pudding Cake

This was an extreme hit with everyone! I used egg whites and unsweetened applesauce, instead of oil, to lower the fat and it was so moist and full of banana flavor!

Addictive Pumpkin Muffins

This recipe is GREAT! I made a few changes. It doesn't need as much sugar as recipe calls for. I also used equal amounts of whole wheat flour and all purpose flour. After baking, I topped with light cream cheese mixed with pumpkin pie spice.

Peppermint Brittle

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
This is pretty good! The only change I made was I melted 1 bag of white morsels and 1/2 bag of Andes Candies Peppermint crunch w/ 1 tsp shortening. Then added 15 crushed peppermints, should've added a few more. This does turn pink. After spreading on the baking sheet, I added red and green sprinkles.

This was very good, except we felt like something was missing to add to the flavor. I'm going to try adding some wine next time.

Ground Beef N Rice Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
Delicious! I did add worcestershire sauce & dry mustard powder to the meat and I baked just the meat for 12 minutes before I added the rice mixture, then I baked it for about 35 minutes longer. Next time I will bake the meat for 15-20 before adding the rice.

Summer Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2004
This was great! I took the advice of another and used herd stuffing instead of croutons. I drained excess water from the veggies before mixing together and put some stuffing on bottom of pan to soak up any extra water. Did not come out soggy and made great leftovers!

Christmas Creamy Egg Nog

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2004
Not bad! As for the eggs, it is safest if you use free range eggs (although I mainly use store bought),wash with anitbacterial soap and rinse under warm water. Many pregnant women eat raw eggs this way, especially in smoothies.Cooking them as suggested earlier is great too. We also don't like to drink alcohol so we also used the rum extract.

Chicken Tetrazzini

Delicious. I doubled the sauce and added onion and garlic to the butter while making the roux. Didn't have green pepper, but I normally don't add it anyway. Oh and I didn't have 1/2 &1/2- milk works just as well. Thanks for the recipe!

Armenian Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
The taste is delicious, but I made some changes to fit my family size (6)... 1/3 c butter, 1 cup noodles, 2 cups rice, 4 cups broth & 3 bouillon cubes. After melting butter, browning noodles and adding rice, I transferred to the rice cooker & added the broth & bouillon. 4 cups of liquid is more than enough for 2 cups rice.
