I am a ticket monkey by trade, and have developed my cooking skills as each year ticks by, I am most thankful for my father teaching me a few family recipes in my very early twenties.
My favorite things to cook
unbelievably difficult Martha cakes, Thai dishes, and healthy dishes with whole grains, especially soup.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving is probably my favorite to cook with Easter being a close second...also, Italian american dishes, 'sauce', secret meatballs, and my own now tradition of chicken franchese/picatta.
My cooking triumphs
Meringue birthday cake a la Martha
Making Giada's Tuscan Easter Pie is something I am also very proud of
Grilled asparagus 'fries'
My cooking tragedies
garlic bread - blackened, the bain of my existence
Dropping a whole cake and it immediately breaking into thousands of pieces
Once leaving my cement mixer (kitchenaid) on and turning my whipped cream into butter
