Use Chicken broth instead of water. I have made this a handful of times and when ever I use chicken broth instead of water I get more compliments.

Taco Soup VIII

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2008
I need to say this soup is very forgiving and can be modified a hundred ways. The only thing I did different was used my own taco seasoning- cumin, chili powder, coriander.. I used black beans too. Everyone loved this, I will make this again.

Easy Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2007
The key word is easy. If you want authentic stuff it will take time and effort. I was worried about this not tasting right but I was pleasantly surprised. This was quick and my two year old liked it. Great recipe for busy families.

Creamy Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
I tried this recipe as an alternative to one I usually do that calls for half and half or a heavy cream in it and that says to saute the butter and onions then add flour as some reviews of this one suggest. I was surprised at how little in taste and texture this recipe was in comparison. Still it is edible and easy.

Simple Guacamole

If you keep salsa on hand this is cheaper and more convenient than buying the powdered mixes in the store. Easy to add your own flavors and heat to it. Great Recipe

Irresistible Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
my husband called this the Pecan and Crust pie. I like pecans but that is all you could taste in this pie. As I was putting them in I thought it looked like a lot but it was my first time makine a pecan pie so I had no other frame of reference. I cooked it for 45min maybe it need less time with all those nuts in my oven? So many give this a high review so I am giving it at least 3 stars thinking it has to partly be me. My advice if it looks like a lot of nuts to you it probably is use less or add more syrup filling,

Simple Baked Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2007
nice to have a recipe you don't need to change or add to and have it come out tasting great. I have made this without molasses and it still taste good, I do think the molasses makes a difference and would encourage using it if you can.

Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2007
Probably the first AllRecipe I have ever done exactly according to the recipe. I thought it was great. I would note if you want your tortillas to be crunchy maybe heating them in the skillet first would make a difference. I couldn't seem to bake them to a crispyness I liked. Maybe if it was hotter? Anyway they went quick. My friend's response, better than the catered lunch I had today.

Favorite Corn Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2007
I am a novice corn bread maker, I added more sugar since most reviews said to. I don't think it was necessary came out sweeter than expected. I think this recipe is fine by itself or a good base to add corn, chiles, or whatever you want to it.

Bow Tie Pasta with Sausage and Sweet Peppers

used pepper jack cheese on it. Had a nice flavor and was easy! Nothing spectacular but sometimes you just need to get to dinner on the table fast and want something besides frozen fish sticks. Worth a try.

Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2007
I don't know if it is fair to give this four stars without using the andouille sausage, but since so many people review this without using it I thouht I would rate it accordingly. The sausage will change the flavor of your dish! I had a nice spicy, great tasting bean mixture until I added my eckrich smoked, it became mild and a tad salty. Maybe the reason for the omission of salt in the recipe? It was good after adjusting the flavor I used Tony's creole seasoning. Everyone liked it. My advice is note the sausage!

Fragrant Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2007
I definitely think it needs the fruit to go along with the strong flavor. I think it might be better if left to being watery. I found in trying to thicken it up it was maybe too dense. My advice don't skip the chutney.
