I'm a 24-year-old student in Fairbanks, AK. I live with my four roommates in an apartment that sometimes get a lot of traffic - and I love cooking in a busy kitchen! Breads, cakes, cookies, and candy - baking, absolutely. For a while I worked at a seafood cookbook company, and I used to dream about fish! Right now, though, I mostly like cooking things that are cheap :) Pickachicken! My mom served it all the time. We had a really big family with a lot of kids eating over, and so she'd put a whole chicken on the table and we'd pull it apart with our fingers - very communal and fun. I still love any meal that involves communal eating, and everybody just digging in with their hands. Anytime the food disappears fast, or anytime something I cook makes people happy feels like a cooking triumph to me! I set fires in the kitchen - pie fillings, pot holders, pots of boiling honey (!) There's usually a rush to open all the windows and doors and get the smoke out before the alarm goes off.
