Bangin' Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2013
I normally make "Janet's Rich Banana Bread" recipe from allrecipes.com, but I was out of sour cream so I decided to try this recipe. Bangin' banana bread was more dense than "janet's rich banana bread". I prefer not to puree the bananas - but I did per the recipe instructions. I also left out the nuts. I cooked the bread for 60 minutes in a glass pan and this was too long. I would only make this recipe again if I was out of sour cream and had really ripe bananas - otherwise, I would go back to "Janet's Rich Banana Bread".

Soft Sugar Cookies V

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2012
These cookies were definitely softer - almost cake like. My husband liked to eat them all by themselves with no frosting. I on the other hand did not think they were sweet enough - the nutmeg seemed strong to me. I did not refrigerate the dough overnight - instead I placed in the freezer to harden to make cutting shapes easier. Lots of flour also helped. I would try another recipe before coming back to this one...it was not bad, but I am looking for a different flavor and texture - even though this was soft.

Overnight Blueberry French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2012
Absolutely perfect recipe - followed it exactly. 1) Loved that I could prepare this the night before. 2) The glaze recipe was delicious and super easy to make - I will use the glaze for other things in the future 3) It did take much longer to cook than the directions detail - I think I cooked for at least 30 minutes longer My husband only recommendation was to use French Bread next time - and I might just try that. This was our Christmas breakfast. It was great. I do recommend adding a protein on the side because this is so sweet all by itself.

Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2012
It was good. Oddly enough, my husband and I thought it actually tasted better the second day on re-heat. I would make it again because it was so easy. I did change the recipe after reading lots of reviews: - Cream of Chicken and Cream of Mushroom - Obrien potatos with diced green bellpeppers and onions already in the mix. - Sharp cheddar cheese - mixed 1 cup of cheese with the mix and sprinkled more cheese on top at the end with French Fried Onions This took quite a while to cook. The directions said to pour the mixture over the potatoes, but did not say to mix. However, after cooking for 60 minutes, I realized that I needed to mix the potatoe and mixture together.

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2012
This is similar to a corn dish available at El Torito Mexican restaurat - I did not find the texture dry at all, but I did make some changes to the recipe. - Used Frozen corn instead of canned corn - Used Jiffy corn bread mixture - 1 can of diced green chilis - Did not add sugar once I added the green chilis, but was considering it My husband really like it and so did I. I used an 8x8 pan and had no issues with it overflowing. Super easy to make. Great flavor and moist. Even good the next day.

Walnut Banana Bread Pudding

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
This was amazing. This was my first time ever making bread pudding - but I love bread pudding without raisens and love banana bread - so when I had too many ripe bananas and too many Costco rolls left over this receipe was perfect. I ended up letting it be in the refridge for about 16-17 hours, as I prepared it mid day and cooked it the next morning - I was concerned it might be too soggy, but not at all. I also made this recipe without walnuts - as a personal preference. Preparing this dish was super, super easy.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
Added 3 bananas versus 2 bananas. It is very moist and delicious. I cant wait to make it again as the sigle batch is not enough to share and enough left overs for me.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
This was good and I would definitely make it again. I followed the advice of others and used double meat & soup, and a whole onion. To ensure that it did not burn I cooked it on low (8 hour setting) for only 6 hours. Cooked the meal for 6 hours and put it in the refrigerator for the next day (without the cream cheese). Warmed up the meal on the stove for dinner the next day and added about 8 oz. of cream cheese for texture. Next time I will probably use 2 small onions and fresh mushrooms.

Golden Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
Unfortunately, I made the mistake of cooking the boneless pork chops uncovered for 30 minutes before I realized it was suppose to be covered. Based on this mistake I think I dried out the chops...this always seems to happen to me. I will definitely try again, but based on my mistake it was not as hot as everyone else had mentioned.

Slow Cooker London Broil

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
Not a fan of the tomato & mushroom mixture. I also would prefer chuck roast over london broil. Won't be making again, but it was edible.

King Ranch Chicken Casserole III

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
I followed this recipe exactly and it tasted great! I was truly surprised at the amount of flavor. I was also worried that there was not enough soup mixture, but it worked out perfectly. Only change I will make next time is reduce the amount of onion and green bell pepper or saute first to make them a bit less crunchy. I did not find the recipe soupy once I let it cool for about 20 minutes. Definitely worth making and I will make again.

No Time to Cook Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
The end result deserves a 5 star even though I did not follow the recipe. My end result came out like shredded chicken (not sure if that is how it is suppose to be), but it was perfect for sandwiches. I think this is due to over cooking the chicken (12 hours). I did not add the sour cream at the end & initially added 1 tablesoon of pepper. I will definitely make this again...I will just follow the recipe more closely next time.

Awesome Roast Beef

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
Loved the flavor of this recipe. At first I was concerned because I did not feel there was enough liquid to make it juicy, but that was not the case at all. I skipped the potatoes and celery as I made mashed potatoes with the roast. I will definitely be making this again, probably in the next month.

Feta Cheese and Bacon Stuffed Breasts

My husband loved it. Next time I am going to use more feta and bacon because you can never have too much of that. Super EASY, too!!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
UPDATE: I orginally put this recipe as a 5 star, but after making the "Awesome Roast Beef" recipe this does not compare. The mushroom soup makes it very salty; however, the benefit of the mushroom soup is I was able to quickly make a variation of a stroganoff by adding sour cream and noodles. But if you are looking for a great pot roast definitely try "Awesome Roast Beef".

Garlic Cheese Chicken Rollups

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2007
LOVED IT and so did my guests, but they are also not used to me cooking. :) When rolling the chicken I was concerned about the rolls being too big and not cooking thru in the time alloted; however, they did just fine. I will make this again and my friend even wants the recipe.

Steven's Baked Nachos

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
Loved the idea of baking the chips, which created the best nachos. Instead of chicken I used ground beef with a fajita seasoning and it had amazing flavor. Great for an appetizer. The unfortunate part is that it is not good for left overs. My husband and I had to throw half of it out because we could not eat it all.

Macaroni and Cheese with Chicken and Broccoli

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2007
There is nothing wonderful about this recipe, especially for how many steps and ingredients. If I do make it again, I would not use the basil (way too overpowering) and my husband did not like the tomatoes (canned diced tomatoes). I also thought the sauce for the mac and cheese was boring. To make it more edible, I added cheese to the top and baked it in the oven. There are much easier chicken recipes to make than this one that taste much, much better. I would have given it 1 star but my husband kind of like it.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2007
The sauce makes this meal!!!! My husband loved it. I used white onion instead of green onions due to preference and based on the recommendations of others used fajita seasoning for the chicken. I thought the fajita seasoning was a bit strong, so next time I would not use the whole package.
